Extreme heat at the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp in Florida reportedly influenced the “Chrisleys Knows Best” alum’s decision to stay home. Responding to his client’s dilemma, Jay Surgent’s legal representative explained to PEOPLE that the 54-year-old made “an application under the CARES Act to be released.”

The podcast host claimed his mother had “a rattlesnake crawling across the floor in front of her” and “there’s her bed.” However, her brother denied the “rattlesnake” comment, saying Julie lived among “venomous snakes”.
