Tom Bergeron, who worked with Len Goodman for years on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” learned of her death after seeing a text from his sister.
“I woke up this morning to a text from my sister, and it said, ‘Sorry to hear about Len,’ and that’s the first time I’ve heard or read about it, so then I went online and looked at all the stories about it. passed,” Bergeron told ET.
After processing the news, she reflected on her time working with the former “Dancing With the Tars” judge, remembering her smile and honesty.
“That smile, that twinkle in the eye. Anger that he would watch TV,” Bergeron said. “I’ll think about the time when — because his criticism is always 100 percent honest, but he’ll get winded when he does a commercial break. He would call me and go, ‘That’s good, isn’t it?’ ‘Oh yeah, that’s good, yeah.’ I think the touching part is more prominent than his real personality.”
Bergeron and Goodman appeared on reality competition shows together from 2005 to 2019. “I think that’s why it’s his opinion, and no disrespect to Bruno, Carrie Ann, Derek, or Julianne when he’s a judge, but I think they’ll also agree that Len’s criticism and opinion is most appreciated by everyone,” he added.
