Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said, “For most players, it’s important. But I think when you play in the league for a certain amount of time, and you prepare in a certain way, it’s not necessary to train the guy all the time.”

He continued, “You’ll train, but you won’t train all the time. You’ll get a day off here and there because it’s a long season.”

In Brady’s absence, he will be replaced by backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who will take reps on first and second down. The Buccaneers believe that the new arrangement will help Brady “do well without a full allocation during practice weeks.”

News of Brady’s absence before the season comes amid speculation that he and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, have fallen out over his decision to make a U-turn in retirement. Ever since the first whiff of domestic trouble circulated in the news, things only seemed to get worse for 13 years.

The Brazilian fashion model left their family home in Tampa, Florida, for Costa Rica, and even when she returned to the United States she did not return home. Instead, he stayed in Miami for a while and hung out with their two kids.

Bündchen, who is often the center of attention at her husband’s football games, even missed his first game of his 23rd season with the Buccaneers. However, things took a turn for the worse, with the couple reportedly no longer living together.

According to insiders, the living arrangement was put in place after Brady was absent from practice for nearly two weeks in August. In other reports, different sources claim that the famous quarterback is torn between being a great father and husband and a good football player.

“Tom is a great guy, everyone thinks so, including Gisele [Bündchen]. He doesn’t mean to be too busy,” the insider said. “He wants to be a good husband and father; he still gets excited when talking about Gisele and the kids.”

The source mentioned that Brady has a “huge draw” to the sport, and as a result, his family has always had to make concessions for his career. The family has been “patient” with her decision, but it seems their tolerance is waning as Bündchen “feels like Tom needs to be home” again.
