Jane Fonda Opens Up About Friendship With Sally Fields & Lily Tomlin
When asked how friendships in movies compare to real-life friendships, Fonda said, “Sally [Fields] and Lily [Tomlin] is my true friend.”
Fonda admits her relationship with Fields took some work given the “Forrest Gump” star’s “reclusive” demeanor.
“He [Sally] tends to be quite closed. He’s not someone who really wants to go out. So, especially when I live in Atlanta, I have to really talk her into coming to dinner with me or hanging out or whatever,” Fonda admitted. “But look, I understand him. I know he is. I don’t take it personally. I chased after him.”
Fonda famously starred alongside Tomlin in the 1980s “9 to 5” and Netflix’s “Grace & Frankie.” The series wrapped last year after seven years on the streaming platform.

“Lily is a completely different person to me and I’m completely fascinated by her,” he said. “We’ll be sitting next to each other and someone will come up and say something serious and Lily will find a way to respond with something funny. I can’t do that, I’m just in awe of it.”
Fonda admits that having a strong group of girlfriends is very important to her health.
“Women look into each other’s eyes and ask for help. They show their weakness,” he told Cooper before adding “This is why I believe women live five to seven years longer than men.”

Meeting Tom Brady Had a Physical Effect on Jane Fonda!
“My knees are starting to give out. I’m not joking. He got into my trailer, damn it, and my knees started to go weak. I was standing by the sink so I held on, but and that’s when he signed this jersey that I was wearing,” Fonda recalled. “It’s twofold. He’s the GOAT, he’s the greatest of all time. When someone is good at what they do, it’s like magic. You have to bow down. But on top of that she is very beautiful. I was just overwhelmed and he was so sweet, so generous, so kind.”
As for potentially hooking up with Brady, it’s not out of the question for Fonda, but she will NOT be moving into his house.
She told Cooper that she replaced the “his and hers” bathroom when she moved into her house seven years ago.
