‘Too Hot to Handle’ S2 Alums Emily Faye Miller and Cam Holmes Expect First Child in 2024
On January 1, 2024, Emily Faye Miller and Cam Holmes took to Instagram to announce that they were pregnant in June 2024 after meeting on the second season of “Too Hot To Handle” in 2020. The news comes a year and a half after Emily, 29, suffered a pregnancy loss after she was hospitalized for an ectopic pregnancy.
“So a few weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. Even though it was a surprise I was also pretty excited,” Emily wrote on Instagram on June 10. “But on Tuesday, I collapsed while at the store. I can’t describe the pain to you – it felt like my whole stomach fell apart and I was rushed to the hospital.”
He said he didn’t get the scan until 3pm the next day. Some nurses later confirmed that she had an ectopic pregnancy, which Emily described as “basically where the fetus gets stuck and grows in your Fallopian tubes which is fatal, and if I leave it any longer my Fallopian tubes will burst.”
Emily said she was “so scared,” writing, “Not only am I going to lose my baby but I’m going to have my Fallopian tubes thrown out with my potential ovaries too.” For the scan and possible surgery, he was not allowed to eat or drink for 24 hours. “So you can see in the picture I’m sniffing protein cookie cams because I’m so hungry,” he joked.
He was then taken to surgery. “I don’t know who cried more me or Cam but it was too emotional to say,” she wrote. “I had asked Cam to get me a food and drink list when I got home but I had a panic attack when I woke up. I was given a dose of morphine because I was in so much pain that I then felt sick and had to go to bed.”
After a few more blood tests and breakfast, he was discharged but still bedridden and in excruciating pain, both physically and mentally. In the final slide of her post, she said that she “definitely ignored the signs my body was trying to tell me earlier about my ectopic pregnancy” and urged girls to get an early pregnancy scan “just to be on the safe side to rule out. any kind of potential problem” since ectopic pregnancy affects about 1 in 100 pregnancies.
Emily Is Excited To Welcome ‘Our Little Miracle’ In 2024
In an interview with People magazine published on January 1, Emily admitted, “After what happened last time, I don’t know if I would want to be pregnant again if I had to go through it again,” adding, “It sounds cliché, but it really is our little miracle. This is what I’m really excited about, being able to tell people that it’s possible.”
He revealed that he told Cam on the way that he had plans for his birthday in October. “I was like, ‘I’m not going to tell him on his birthday. I’m going to let him have that day to himself. I’m going to tell him the day after,'” she recalls. “So the day after we went out to dinner, and, honestly, I wish I had recorded his reaction because it looked like someone had seen a ghost.”
“I would say it’s not the reaction I was hoping for, but he’s more realistic,” he continued. “I think, because of what happened last time, he’s very skeptical, and he’s just worried, I think, about what happened. He was just like, ‘But what if it happens again?’ “
After a 12-week scan, her doctor assured her that her baby looked healthy and that she had gotten the “all clear” from medical professionals. Now, at 14 weeks, she says she feels more pregnancy symptoms.
“All I do is sleep, and when I don’t sleep, I feel sick, so it’s kind of hard,” she said. “Apparently, the second trimester is where it’s at.” At 20 weeks, they want to know the gender of the baby; however, they are still trying to decide on a name.
