The mother-of-two, who unsurprisingly rose to fame when her son started dating Taylor Swift last year, secured the deal after she was spotted carrying leftovers in a Ziploc bag.

Over the weekend, Donna was seen getting out of her car with a Ziploc bag filled with goodies in one hand. In the hours since, Ziploc revealed that Kelce’s parents have become their first ever Chief Waste Officer (CLO).
Ziploc shares that three out of four Big Game watch party hosts feel guilty about throwing away food waste even though more than 18 million pounds were wasted during last year’s game. To combat food waste, Donna, in her new role, will encourage guests to “Bring Your Own Ziploc” (BYOZ) to take home their leftovers.

As well as landing important gigs with Ziploc, the 71-year-old has also enjoyed a media career since Travis started dating Taylor. Speaking about the media coverage of her son’s relationship, Donna stated:
“I’ll tell you, it’s just… they make up their own story, and I don’t have to say anything, they just do it all themselves.”
Despite her confusion about the media, Donna admits that she appreciates the recognition she receives while away from home. In his words:
“It was a journey. That’s for sure. It’s a little different. Sometimes I feel like I’m on a different planet. I was like, ‘What has my life become?’ It’s been a journey, that’s for sure It’s nice to be recognized. It is. Most everyone is pretty respectful and very positive.”

In October 2023, Donna discussed the drama surrounding her son and Taylor’s romance after social media users claimed that the “You Belong With Me” hitmaker was using Travis as a PR stunt. The Blast reports that he spoke about the issue during an interview with Jennifer Vickery Smith on the “Got It From My Momma” podcast.

“I feel like I’m in an alternate universe. It’s something I never thought I’d be involved with,” Donna told Vickery, before admitting that her family has faced criticism from “haters”.
As the conversation unfolded, the doting mom cracked a joke, noting that the NFL was “laughing all the way to the bank” because of soaring ticket sales at games Taylor attended. He added, “Good for them. They are affected by everything.”
Later in November, The Blast observed that Donna was accompanied by a police escort in Kansas City ahead of her sons — Travis (Kansas City Chiefs tight end) and Jason (Philadelphia Eagles center) — facing off in a Monday Night game.
Four armed officers surrounded him as he engaged in promotional activities at local restaurant Raising Cane before heading to the stadium. The precaution was understandable to viewers following Donna’s growing visibility after the Kelce brothers made NFL history as the first siblings to compete against each other in the Super Bowl.
He was spotted manning the register at the Raising Cane restaurant before taking off with the aforementioned law enforcement agents. When she’s not in the field looking for her son, Donna sings the praises of Travis and Taylor’s relationship.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal for its December/January cover story on Travis, she shared, “I can tell you this – he’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time. God bless him. He’s shooting for the stars!”
