Trevor Noah has started plans to expand from his current hosting job!
Over the past seven years, the 38-year-old has built a brand for himself as host of “The Daily Show,” winning numerous awards, including the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Variety Series. However, it looks like all that is about to change following the comedian’s decision to quit hosting the Comedy Central show.
Trevor Noah Thanks Fans After Seven Great Years Hosting Comedy Central’s Hit Show
Noah unexpectedly broke the hearts of his millions of fans on September 29 when he announced his decision to quit hosting “The Daily Show.” In a recording shared via the show’s official Instagram handle, the comedian thanked his fans for being by his side for his nearly decade-long hosting career. The clip turns emotional when he says:
“I realize that after seven years, my time is up but in the most beautiful way, honestly. I love hosting this show. It is one of my biggest challenges. It is one of my greatest joys.”
Adding that he really enjoys “trying to figure out how to make people laugh even when the story is so boring on the worst days,” Noah noted that he and his audience have “laughed and cried together.”
Unfortunately, after seven years of doing the routine, the host of the satirical news program feels “like it’s time.” It seems that this decision was a long time coming because Noah revealed that his life took on a new meaning during the coronavirus pandemic that closed the world in 2020. In his words:
“I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road. Stand-up was done. When I went back there again, I realized there was another part of my life that I wanted to explore.”
She admits that she misses “learning another language,” “going to another country,” “doing shows,” and “just being everywhere doing everything.” While he noted the lack of plans for his successor or the show’s future, Noah thanked his viewers for remaining loyal to him throughout this period.
His moving speech was met with a long and enthusiastic standing ovation from the studio audience, who were stunned by the information. Whatever he chooses to do next, the “Taka Takata” actor has left a mark on his fans and his bank account.
Following the comedian’s announcement, Freshers LIVE has estimated Noah’s net worth at $100 million, accumulated from his career as a TV host, actor, political commentator and comedian.
Co-Creator of “The Opposition with Jordan Klepper” Has Several Legal Obligations to Fulfill
In August, The Blast provided an update on Noah’s malpractice suit against the Hospital for Special Surgery and Dr. Riley J. Williams III — who performed the surgery — for negligence during a recent surgical procedure.
According to the report, the case took a turn when a judge ordered the “Coming 2 America” star to undergo a physical examination and submit his results within 60 days as part of the process for the legal battle.
The New York judge also asked that the South African native testify and was “totally overturned” by Dr. Williams III, the defendant in the case. As it turned out, Noah had to give the doctor access to all previous medical reports.
The “Black Panther” star also had to sign and give permission from Pharmacy in California, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, his trainer, James Tibone, MC, Michael Aziz, MD, Meyer Sports Institute, Duane Reade Pharmacy and MINK Radiologic Imaging.
Noah could be subject to sanctions if he fails to follow the judge’s order. While Noah and his legal team have yet to respond or publicly comment on the terms, it hasn’t stopped the “Born A Crime” author from enjoying some quality time with soccer legend Thierry Henry.
Noah took to Instagram to post a photo of himself and Henry chatting at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. He captioned it, “Great night watching the future of @fcbarcelona while spending time with game legend Thierry Henry. [football and red heart emojis].”
The post has received almost 90k likes with only 400+ comments because the host of the “Trevor Noah: Lost in Translation” stand-up put restrictions on the section.
