Trevor Noah is saying goodbye to “The Daily Show” earlier than expected!
The timeline for his departure was set just two weeks after the host reportedly shocked network executives, crew, and his live audience with his plans to leave during the show. As it turns out, Noah has less than two months left with the Comedy Central program.

When Jon Stewart left “The Daily Show” in 2015, he left some big shoes for the next host to fill, which is what Noah did when he took over in September of the same year.
In fact, the comedian did more than fill in the shoes as he made his own mark on the highly respected and beloved late night series. And now, with Noah stepping down from his hosting duties, the show’s future is up in the air.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Global announced that Noah’s final “Daily Show” will air on December 8. The show which will air in the week leading up to the South African native’s departure will feature some of his best moments. for seven years as the show’s frontman.
According to the statement, CEO and president of MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks Chris McCarthy said, “Trevor is an extraordinary talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show, and we are grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years. . ” Noah also said:
“Chris has been a great leader and partner who has helped me realize my dream of working not only in front of the camera, but also behind the scenes, producing content that is now broadcast across the Paramount family. I’m really excited to see what the future holds.”
Sources told the news outlet that the “8 Out of 10 Cats” panelist’s announcement about leaving Comedy Central’s flagship show surprised some Paramount and Comedy Central executives, including McCarthy. Noah had neglected to mention his decision to the CEO when they reportedly had lunch the previous day.
The outlet also confirmed that the series will remain on the cable channel amid speculation that it will be exclusive to the conglomerate’s streaming platform, Paramount+.
While it didn’t provide any details on where the show is headed in regards to the host, Comedy Central claims that the revamped “Daily Show” will return from vacation in 2023:
“The Emmy-winning franchise will begin reinvention as it has done so successfully in the past,” Noah’s end date announcement reads, “back on Tuesday, January 17, with additional details to come.”
Noah is the third host of “The Daily Show,” after Craig Kilborn and Stewart. The announcement of the host of “Trevor Noah: The Racist” in late September coincides with the date his “Daily Show” began seven years ago.

Shortly after he announced his resignation from “The Daily Show,” Noah opened up to fans about his decision. The Blast noted that he addressed the update in an Instagram video that saw a viewer express how sad he and fellow fans were about his passing.
He also asked “The Amazing Date” co-host if his leave would go through the same “whole process” as when Stewart handed him the job. After appreciating the fans’ support and emotions, the political commentator likened his situation to a joyous funeral that involved people celebrating him while he was in a coffin, still alive.
The “Born a Crime” author added that he doesn’t believe there’s a good time to say goodbye, especially given the big transition that will take place when his successor emerges. Noah shared his hope that viewers will continue to return to the show to support its new host, just as they did when he first joined the network.
The multi-award-winning star noted that she’s looking forward to “living a little more, expressing a little more, growing a little more and trying new things” after “The Daily Show.” While hosting, Noah received numerous awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award from 11 nominations.
