Tristan Thompson has been ordered to repay a large amount of child support payments amid his unpaid suspension.

The Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player, who was suspended in January, recently found himself in another legal battle with Maralee Nichols. His baby mama accused him of being an absentee father, and the law couldn’t agree more.

It’s been nearly three years since Thompson and Nichols’ famous relationship came to light in December 2021, but time has done nothing to resolve their differences.

The former couple are apparently still at loggerheads over their son Theo Thompson, the result of an affair they had while the athlete was in a relationship with Khloè Kardashian. Unfortunately, the little boy reportedly received the cold shoulder from his father.

According to sources, Thompson has been a physically and financially absent father. Although the court previously ordered her to pay $9,500 a month in child support, she owes her son five months of unpaid child support.

Court documents obtained by The US Sun reveal the NBA star missed payments between September 15, 2023 and January 31, 2024. The evidence supports Nichols, with the judge ordering Thompson to pay back $57,916 for her son’s well-being.

Child Support Crisis Comes Amid Thompson Suspension

Two months before his latest legal drama, Thompson made waves for violating basketball league rules. The NBA addressed the situation in a statement, revealing he had been punished for “violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for ibutamoren and the SARM LGD-4033.”

Thompson was suspended 25 games without pay in January, a situation that broke the hearts of his Cleveland Cavaliers. Nevertheless, they chose to stay in his corner.

The NBA team expressed their support for Thompson in a statement, writing: “The Cleveland Cavaliers fully support the NBA/NBAPA Anti-Drug Program, and we are disappointed by the latest news regarding Tristan Thompson.”

Craig filed a lawsuit against Thompson in 2023, alleging he failed to meet his $40,000 monthly child support payments. He explained that he started defaulting in November 2022 when he only paid half of the amount.

The athlete reportedly paid the full amount in December but skipped payments for January 2023. Craig stated that he continued partial payments of $14,500 from February 2023 to August 2023, when he made the highest payment of $29,000.

In short, Craig only received $136,000 in child support payments over nine months, leaving $224,000 unaccounted for – money he’s begging the court must return to him.

Thompson’s Ex Asks For Part Of His Salary

In his filing, Craig stated that Thompson has the funds to repay what is owed. He highlighted his lucrative contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, writing:

“It is my understanding that Tristan recently signed an employment contract with a professional sports team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, located in Cleveland, Ohio. I am trying to get some of his salary to pay the arrears he owes me.”

Craig asked the court to order the Cavaliers to withhold $80,000 of Thompson’s salary until he pays off the child support debt. He pointed out that his ex received $2.7 million annually, and that the amount he was asking for was “definitely less than half of his monthly payments.”

Maralee Nichols Fights ‘One Night Stand’ Claims

The drama was posted on Instagram, where the mother-of-one shared a stunning image of herself in a long dress and open heels. She captioned the post: “December is my favorite month. The season of Sagittarius and Christmas.”

Nichols’ happiness was short-lived when a fan called her out in the comments, accusing her of having a “one night stand” with the NBA star. However, he vehemently denied the allegations, claiming:

“I’m definitely not a one-night stand. That’s a false and slanderous statement you made about me.”
