Trump campaigns with Vivek Ramaswamy in NH, tells voters Nikki Haley needs ‘Democrats and liberals to infiltrate’ GOP primary

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Nikki Haley on Tuesday in her first campaign appearance with former rival Vivek Ramaswamy, suggesting she needed Biden supporters to “infiltrate” the New Hampshire primary to do well.

Trump, after his landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses on Monday, told supporters in Atkinson, NH, that the former South Carolina governor “expects Democrats and liberals to infiltrate your Republican party.”

“You have a bunch of people who come in who are not Republicans, and it artificially inflates the numbers here,” Trump, 77, claimed, referencing New Hampshire’s primary rule that allows undeclared voters to enter the nominating contest.

The former president also slammed Haley’s speech after she finished third in Iowa, calling it “inappropriate” and “bad for unity.”

Haley on Monday declared the primary a “two-man race” between herself and Trump, and she urged voters not to support “Republican chaos,” a reference to Trump.

The former commander-in-chief argued that Haley’s supporters are “pro-Biden” and if “she wins, Biden wins.”

“Democrats support [Haley] because he’s easily defeated,” Trump said.

An average of RealClearPolitics polls — all taken before the Iowa Caucuses — showed Haley trailing Trump by 14.2 points in the Granite State.

Trump was joined at Atkinson by Ramaswamy, a day after the 38-year-old political newcomer suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed the 45th president after a fourth-place showing in Iowa.

“I’m asking you to do the right thing and vote for Donald J. Trump as your next president because we don’t have much time,” Ramaswamy told the crowd in a fiery eight-minute speech.

“We need a commander-in-chief who will lead us to victory in this war,” he added.

After his speech, Trump praised his former rival, calling Ramaswamy “very special.”

“He started with a zippo and finished very strong,” he said of the biotech entrepreneur’s poll numbers at the start of his White House run compared to Ramaswamy’s performance in the Hawkeye State.

“He will work with us for a long time,” he added.
