Former President Trump is preparing to walk through Nevada, where he is expected to sweep the Republican caucus next week.
Trump will be the only major candidate on the ballot during the February 8 caucus, and almost certainly 26 Silver State delegates.
Confusingly, the state will also hold an election on February 6 that will include former UN ambassador Nikki Haley – but not Trump.
Although his success there is equally assured, the event will not provide representation.
A primary was required by Nevada state law in 2021, but the local Republican Party decided to keep the caucus system.
“We will give you 100% of the delegates from the state of Nevada to Donald J. Trump,” Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald said earlier this week.
“Trump has all the momentum. He has a big lead going into South Carolina as well. Nikki Haley has no path to the nomination,” Garrett Ventry, a Republican strategist, told The Post.

Trump is riding high among GOP primary voters after sweeping victories in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary earlier this month.
Fierce rivals such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy have fallen by the wayside and offered their support.
After Nevada, Trump will only hold a primary on February 24 in South Carolina, where Haley, the state’s governor again, is expected to make a last stand against him.

A Monmouth University-Washington Post poll released Thursday showed Trump with a 26-point lead over Haley.
