Trump insists he will ‘absolutely’ testify at his criminal trials

Former President Donald Trump said he plans to testify in his own defense when his criminal case goes to trial next year.

The 77-year-old faces a total of 91 charges across four criminal cases — all as he seeks another term in the White House.

If convicted on all charges, the 2024 Republican front-runner faces a staggering 712 years and six months in prison.

“Oh, yes, absolutely,” Trump said Wednesday in an interview on The Hugh Hewitt Show.

“I hope so, I can’t wait to testify. At the trial, I will testify,” he stressed.

However, the former commander in chief, who attacked special counsel Jack Smith as “crazy,” told Hewitt that he would not see all the things he was prepared to tell the jury.

“If you did and they asked you in the stands, did you order anyone to move the box, how would you answer?” asked the talk show host.

“I’m not answering that question for you, but I’m fully protected under the law,” Trump replied.

“If you read the Presidential Records Act, just read it. You see. I am fully protected under the law. It’s a civil action. It is civil. Now Biden has no civil action,” he continued.

“What he did was a crime. But he had no lunatics on his case. You know, they gave me crazy Jack Smith. She has a normal man. What can I tell you?”
