Tupac Shakur’s Memorabilia From Prison Time Turns Up For Sale With Hefty Prices

One or more lucky people will soon be the owners of two new pieces from Tupac Shakur’s past.

According to reports, a booking photo and identification card from the rapper’s jail arrest sold for $35,000 and $75,000 respectively.

It came after the suspect in Shakur’s murder, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, was arrested by police on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

According to a new report, a pair of items from Shakur’s time at Clinton Correctional Facility in New York are being sold. The rap legend stayed at the facility in 1995 after being convicted of sexual abuse.

One of the famous works is a black and white mug shot of Shakur, in which he sports his famous bald hairstyle. The photo captures the rapper facing the camera and in side profile, a traditional style commonly seen in photo bookings.

The second piece of memorabilia is a laminated Shakur ID featuring his photo, name, date of issue, DOB and other physical characteristics. It is believed that the ID is a replacement for the one he lost several months in prison custody. Whoever gets that ID will also go home with a form that the rapper fills out when he asks for it.

What is the price of the goods that will be sold?

TMZ reports that two relics of Shakur’s past will be sold on Momentsintime.com. The booking photo is believed to have sold for $35,000.

The ID, meanwhile, will cost more than double the mug shot, at $75,000. This price also surpasses the $30,000 ID OG sold by Heritage auctions in 2019.

As for how the latest relic came to be, Shakur allegedly gave the items to family members after he was in prison. It was finally owned by a private collector after years of being scattered.

Other pieces of Shakur’s history have also surfaced in recent times. This includes a letter the rapper wrote to his then-girlfriend that sold for $21,000 in 2019. Additionally, Shakur wrote a poem about his best friend Jada Pinkett Smith, which is featured in Staci Robinson’s new biography of her.

Police recently took a step further in seeking justice for the rap legend who was killed in 1996 in a drive-by shooting. They arrested Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the only surviving suspect in the case after a search warrant several months ago turned up items that could be evidence.

According to reports, Davis had “openly mocked the prospect of justice for years” before his arrest and often bragged about playing a role in the hip-hop legend’s death.

A source said, per Sun. “He felt that the police would not take action against him two decades after the murder; he almost goes into hyperdrive talking and bragging about his role in the death.

Following Davis’ careless statements all along, he became a person of interest in the cold case. Police authorities then contacted the DA’s office, which gave them permission to charge the suspect.

After his arrest, Davis was charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon. The grand jury also agreed that the self-proclaimed gangster could get up to an additional 20 years for gang activity if he is convicted.

Davis’ role as the alleged shooter in Shakur’s death is said to be a legal reason that prosecutors are working with to make their case.

“Under Nevada law, you can be charged with a crime whether you were directly involved or whether you were an aider or abettor,” said DA Steve Wilson. Sun, adding, “If you help someone commit a crime, you’re guilty too.”
