Today’s popular app is buzzing with the hashtag #BuyFacebook. Users are unhappy with how Musk is supposedly “running the app into the ground”. They band together to get rid of him but in the same breath, try to get him to buy Facebook so they can get rid of the app as well.

“Could Elon buy Facebook and keep it next? I’d rather see it die a slow death,” one follower wrote. “Excuse me @elonmusk, can you please buy Facebook? I hate it so much,” said another fan. “After Elon killed Twitter, he should buy Facebook next. ? I would pay to see Facebook eat dust,” claimed another.

Did Elon Musk Ask for This?

One is inclined to believe that Musk is asking for drama because the hashtag was born from the founder of SpaceX asking the app what it needed; “What Should Twitter Do Next?” since acquiring the app, the billionaire has turned it into a subscription service.

He shared that one of the changes he’ll be making is offering $8 for blue verified checkmarks, he’s also changing the heart emoji from red to blue.

However, the $8 is what caught a lot of people’s attention. They wondered how he could understand paying for a service that had been free for so long. Soon after the change, fake accounts popped up all over the place pretending to be famous people and saying funny and sometimes horrible things.

Also, users of the app have complained that fake news is not being spread on the site and it is rampant.

Today Is Twitter’s Funeral

The hashtag on Twitter was joined by users gathering for “going home” or more commonly called funerals. “When can my service wear my Twitter clothes?????,” joked one follower.

“I’m already emotional…. who cooks ???,” asked a person who was worried about the mandatory dinner after returning home. Some people point out that now that he owns the company he doesn’t want any lazy people working for him and if he has to “kill” the company to rebuild, maybe that’s for the best. Yikes.

One of Musk’s first changes was telling Twitter employees to return to the office. He did not give up on his work. This triggered something in users who now insist on “burying” the bird app.

Not all of the comments were filled with hate, some were evidently excited about the app and where it was going. “I’m using twitter for the first time in years now. Thank you @elonmusk for cleaning up this platform and removing the garbage. Now just buy Facebook and do the same,” shared one follower.
