Tyrese Gibson is apparently fed up with the current judge handling his divorce case from his ex-wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, so he’s looking for a new one.
The versatile artist was previously married to Norma Mitchell from 2007 to 2009, and then, in 2017, he married Samantha Lee. However, that didn’t last long as they announced their divorce in 2020. Given the current situation surrounding the estranged couple’s divorce, ET reports that Tyrese has multiple reasons to be unhappy with the magistrate, leading him to file a petition in a Georgia court recently- recently.

In late August, the “Baby Boy” actor was ordered to pay $10,690 a month in child support for his ex’s three-year-old daughter, Soraya, but he found the order unfair because he believed the judge was biased. This led to heated exchanges during two court hearings, and eventually, Tyrese filed a petition in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, asking for the recall of Judge Kevin M. Farmer.
Based on court proceedings obtained by the outlet, he listed several reasons he believes Judge Farmer sided with him in the middle of the trial. Moving to withdraw, the “Fast & Furious” star’s attorney claimed that during a pre-trial hearing in Judge Farmer’s chambers, he “stated that he had reviewed the financial evidence in the case.”

The judge also allegedly insisted that $10,690 was an “appropriate amount” for the movie star to pay. This implies that he has come to a conclusion on the matter before hearing what will be presented in court. Meanwhile, Tyrese believes there were several moments during the trial when Judge Farmer displayed injustice, including the events of August 29 and 30.
His motion alleges that on August 29, when he testified that “he had a CPA to manage his finances, and that he knew nothing about his finances,” Judge Farmer stated that self-employed people manipulate their taxes. This suggests that the judge believed Tyrese “didn’t report his taxes properly,” and he didn’t allow the actor to fly his CPA in from California for the second day of the trial.

On August 30, when the Grammy nominee took the stand, she was constantly interrupted by Judge Farmer during her testimony. His motion alleges that the magistrate “said the lawyer to [Tyrese] need to ‘put his foot on his client’s neck.'” Additionally, the petition claims, “During the second hearing in the chamber [on Aug. 30]Judge Farmer yelled at opposing counsel using profanity.” It continued:

In conclusion, the motion claims that due to the “unprofessionalism” of the judge, the 43-year-old man was unable to “get a fair trial in this case.” Additionally, his attorneys, Tanya Mitchell Graham and Shantanece L. Ellis, supported his motion by submitting an affidavit presenting a written narrative of what they witnessed in court.

Last September, in the midst of divorce proceedings, The Blast reported that although Tyrese was ordered to pay $10,690 in child support, it was dated September 2020, implying that he owes a little more than $200,000.
The fee was eventually reduced to $169,000 after it was revealed that he had been paying for Samantha Lee’s car expenses for the two years since the split. For their daughter’s welfare, the parents were ordered to pay equally for any additional costs for her education, while Tyrese maintained a $1.9 million life insurance policy with her as the beneficiary.
