Actor Tyrese Gibson has been ordered to pay child support to his ex-wife Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a three-year-old daughter, Soraya.
Gibson and Lee were married for four years, tied the knot in a low-profile ceremony in February 2017 and welcomed their daughter in 2018. The couple announced their divorce in December 2020. Since then, they have been embroiled in a protracted legal battle to divide assets them and settle other matters, including child support and spousal support.
According to reports, the Georgia court where the lawsuit was filed issued a ruling on the matter, ordering Gibson to pay Lee’s child support and other costs, but disallowing spousal support.

follow Page Six, the court has ruled that Gibson will now pay child support to his estranged wife, Lee. The judge presiding over the case ordered the Hollywood actress to pay Lee a total of $10,690 a month to be used to care for their 3-year-old daughter, Soraya.
Initially, the court ordered that the specified amount of child support be postponed to September 2020, which implies that Gibson already owes his ex-girlfriend up to $209k. However, the actress had her payout reduced to $169k after it was revealed that she had been paying Lee’s car payments for the two years since their split.

According to the ruling, the “Morbius” actor must also maintain a $1.9 million life insurance policy with Soraya as the beneficiary and Lee serving as trustee. Any additional costs for Soraya’s education must be paid equally by the former spouse, and they must continue to provide health insurance to take care of her health.

‘This Is Not Punishment For You’

Gibson was also warned by the judge, who apparently realized he was unhappy with the decision. The judge said, “This is no punishment for you. Put the money in the child, where it belongs!” He also stated that the actress should be eager to improve her ex’s quality of life because it means her daughter will share in the benefits.
Another important part that is considered during a divorce case is spousal support. Ultimately the judge decided that neither party would provide spousal support. The decision also ordered Gibson to receive a Range Rover while Samantha was given a Land Rover.
According to the ruling, Gibson and Lee are now officially single and free to marry anyone without having to bother with the legal ties they had when they first exchanged vows.

Judge Advises Ex-Spouses
After delivering the verdict, the judge gave the former couple some suggestions on how to interact with each other for the sake of their child. He suggests that the couple stop bothering each other in front of Soraya because he thinks such unpleasant behavior will harm her mental health.
“I want you both to love your child, and I want you both to tell your child to love the other parent because that’s how we get successful people,” the judge said. Page Six.

Despite his rocky past marriage to Lee and ex-wife Norma, with whom he shares teenage daughter Shayla, Gibson recently revealed that he has not given up on the institution of marriage and that he intends to settle down soon.
“I want to get married and settle down and really settle down and embrace the comfort of this family and married life,” he said, per The essence, amid his recent split from social media influencer Zelie Timothy. “I don’t want to be at your club or around your women. I want to stay home and be a hard working family man like me.”

Timothy and Gibson dated for a year but broke up in July 2022. At the time of the split, Gibson argued in several since-deleted posts that the cause of the split was Timothy’s lack of interest in fully committing to the relationship.
