Lee is dragging her ex-husband Gibson back to court for allegedly failing to pay $10,690 in court-ordered child support for their 4-year-old daughter Soraya.
In court documents, Lee claimed that “[Gibson] clearly aware the Court ordered the amount of support caused by [her] based on his payment of the appropriate amount in November 2023 ($10,690.00), but for the months of December 2023 and January 2024, [the actor] unilaterally decided to pay only $3,500.00 in child support.”
This is Lee’s third contempt motion brought against Gibson, with the first on March 2, 2023, after which the court held the actor in “willful contempt” for failing to pay child support.
Then, in July 2023, Lee had to once again file a motion against Gibson, still for failing to pay child support.
After the October hearing, the actress was ordered to “make all future child support payments” in a “timely manner until otherwise ordered.”
Due to Gibson’s recent failure to pay child support, Lee requested that he be re-arrested in contempt and that the actor cover his attorney’s fees.
She also asked the court to award “interest on the unpaid portion of child support that has accrued.”
Tyrese Gibson has yet to respond.

After an initial divorce hearing in 2022, where Gibson was ordered to pay $10,690 in child support, he was admonished by the judge at the time, who apparently realized that the actor was unhappy with the decision.
The judge said, “This is not a punishment for you. Put that money in the kid where it belongs!” He also stated that the actress should be eager to improve her ex’s quality of life because it means her daughter will also enjoy the benefits.
Another critical area considered during Gibson and Lee’s divorce case is spousal support. Ultimately, the judge ruled that neither party would provide spousal support. The decision also ordered Gibson to be allowed to keep his 2016 Range Rover while Lee was given a 2017 Land Rover Discovery.

The judge also offered some advice to divorcing couples on how to get along for the good of their children. He suggested that Gibson and Lee stop fighting with each other in front of their daughter because he believed such unpleasant behavior would harm Soraya’s mental health.
“I want you both to love your child, and I want you both to tell your child to love the other parent because that’s how we get successful people,” the judge said at the time.
“Nobody wins here, and nobody loses. The child loses because he does not have his parents together. Minimize the impact of that loss. Reduce it in every way, shape and form you can,” the judge added. “FaceTime with your kids. No amount of money replaces that because you can’t buy time. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Take every minute you can because you blink, and they’re 25 years old.”
Gibson has since moved on from his marriage to Samantha and is now in a relationship with Zelie Timothy, who he regularly posts on social media.
