Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 30 drones over 11 regions of the country Saturday, according to reports.
The Ukrainian Air Force said the Russian military launched Iranian-made Shahed drones from three different directions in Russia, targeting different areas in the center, north and south of the country.
In a statement on the messaging app Telegram, Ukraine’s military said its fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile drone hunter groups repulsed the Russian drone attack.
No casualties were reported.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said anti-aircraft units sprung into action as groups of Russian drones flew across the outskirts of the capital and targeted areas near the city centre.
Anti-aircraft activity was heavy, Klitschko said, in the Darnytskyi district on the east bank of the Dnipro River and explosions also hit historic Podil on the opposite bank.
An overnight air warning lasted for more than five hours in several regions of the country.

The Kremlin has denied targeting Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and reported a series of Ukrainian drone strikes on its territory on Friday.
Russian anti-aircraft units destroyed 32 Ukrainian drones over the Crimean Peninsula, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram Friday.
