The Food Network star, who is currently divorcing her estranged husband Tom Vitale, is getting rid of the precious items she wore to their 2011 wedding.
The 62-year-old took to his Instagram to show off items he now labels as “bad memories” of the past.
This passionate chef is known for her popular shows, including “Valerie’s Home Cooking.” Her now ex-husband appeared on the show several times, where he was seen tasting her delicious dishes.

The two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner posted on her Instagram a photo of the wedding items she dropped off. She shared a photo of two Tiffany & Co rings, believed to be wedding rings, and a pair of sky-high Jimmy Choo shoes worn at her wedding in 2011.

Bertinelli explained that he sold these luxury items to release the toxicity he experienced during his union with Vitale. In her words, “Releasing a few things with @therealreal. A pair of Tiffany rings that have bad memories attached to them and a pair of shoes I wore to a wedding in January 2011. They should be ready in a few weeks!”
Although light, the caption seems to carry a heavy tone. The post got a lot of love and support from her fans and loved ones, who left sweet comments, encouraging and supporting her. Her son, Wolfgang Van Halen, led the beautiful speech, writing, “Love you, Ma ❤️❤️❤️.”
One fan wrote, “I call it Purging. It always helps bring back what’s hard to let go of,” while another added, “Adios to karma and bad memories.”

Bertinelli’s decision to give up some of her wedding items comes nearly five months after she officially filed for divorce from Vitale. As previously reported by The Blast, the “Sydney” actress decided to divorce the financial planner after ten years of marriage.
The couple began dating in 2004 and married on January 1, 2011, in Malibu, California. The “One Day At a Time” alum became stepmother to Vitale’s four children during the union while bringing her son Wolfgang Van Halen into the mix.

Unfortunately, their sweet romance didn’t last long, as they started experiencing domestic problems in the early stages of their marriage. This prompts them to separate until their concerns are addressed. However, this did not last long as the “Kids Baking Championship” host filed for divorce in May in a Los Angeles court, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the basis for the separation.
Before filing for divorce, the Food Network personality filed for legal separation. At the time, there was speculation whether the couple would reconcile or call it quits. But, it seems the end of their journey as a couple has arrived.
The popular TV host has no children with his ex-partner, and a prenuptial agreement was signed before the wedding. Thus, making the divorce procedure less messy and boring.

Vitale Asks For Spousal Support From Two-time Emmy Award Winner
However, the divorce process is not easy. In June, things got heated between the estranged couple when Vitale made some controversial requests.

According to reports, Vitale sought spousal support from Bertinelli while denying the “Boston Legal” actress from receiving the same from him. Furthermore, he disputed the validity of their prenuptial agreement signed about a month before their wedding, even though it was “in full force and effect and fully binding on both parties” with respect to all property acquired during the marriage.
The story of Bertinelli and Vitale’s divorce initially shocked the public because the television personality liked her then-husband and claimed to be happier in her marriage with him.
She once said, “I could spend the rest of my life with Tom and not get married, but I want to call him ‘my husband’. I really want to share how I feel about Tom with the people I love.”
Unfortunately, that is in the past as the “Apple’s Way” star revealed that she and Vitale strayed from the passion that made them a couple. She shared her justification for the divorce in her memoir “Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today.”
