A Las Vegas-area pastor was shot and killed in his driveway during an alleged dispute with his neighbor as his family, including two children, watched the horrific moment unfold just steps away.
Nick Davi, 46, a pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas, was shot dead when Joe Junio, 36, confronted the family outside their townhouse in the Courthouse in the gated community of Aliante last month, according to FOX 5 Vegas.
“Your mind can’t process it,” Davi’s pastor friend Ty Neal told the outlet, saying the family had been terrorized for weeks by Junio, and they had left the home and lived elsewhere.
Junio allegedly became angry when the pastor complained about him to the homeowners association, according to a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Davi’s wife, Sarah.
The family of four was leaving their home in the evening when Junio drove past them and then parked his car and rolled down his window, according to 8NewsNow.
“Why didn’t you leave us? We’re full,” someone shouted to Junio as one of the children began filming the altercation from inside the vehicle.
“What’s your problem with us?” Davi apparently asked before taking a step towards Junio’s car.

Junio shot Davi in the stomach and turned the gun on Sarah Davi, hitting her as well, while the couple’s two children, 12 and 15, watched from a nearby car.
One of Davi’s children filmed the horrific shooting with their phone, with photos of the moments before the fatal shooting attached to the lawsuit.
Both Davi and his wife were taken to University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Davi was born and raised in Riverhead, NY, and joined the Grace Point Church staff in 2014, the Christian Broadcasting Network said.

A few weeks before the shooting, Junio began showing signs of “escalating threatening behavior” after Davi reported him to the HOA for violations involving chickens and dogs, a police report obtained by KLAS read.
Junio, who is licensed with the Nevada Division of Real Estate, was arrested at the scene, FOX 5 Vegas reported.
He has been charged with open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, battery, child abuse/neglect, and discharging a gun/weapon where a person may be endangered, according to jail records seen by The Post.

The wrongful-death lawsuit, filed Jan. 19, asks a jury to award an unspecified amount of damages.
Although the homeowners association was not listed in the lawsuit, it acknowledged the HOA knew of the possibility that Junio would become violent.
“The homeowner’s association knew or should have known that the Defendant was likely to commit violent acts against the deceased and the Plaintiff as a result of an ongoing association dispute,” according to KVVU-TV.

Junio is being held on $300,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
He is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on March 4, 2024.
