Vegas teens charged in retired cop’s hit-and-run death allegedly attempted another murder in wild crime spree

Two Las Vegas teenagers accused of killing a retired police chief in a fatal hit-and-run last month are also accused of trying to kill other people and crashing several stolen vehicles in the same two-hour crime spree.

The alleged driver, Jesus Ayala, 18, and his passenger, Jzamir Keys, 16, were both arraigned Thursday on multiple charges, including murder, linked to the Aug. 14 rampage in Sin City that left Andreas, 64. “Andy” Probst died.

The teenagers allegedly began their activities shortly before dawn when they hit a 72-year-old bicyclist in a stolen Hyundai sedan before fleeing and crashing into the vehicle, 8NewsNow reported, citing law enforcement sources.

Ayala, who had just turned 18, was arrested hours after Probst was killed and told police while in custody that he would not be locked up for long.Jesus Ayala, who had just turned 18, was arrested hours after Probst was killed and told police while in custody that he would not be locked up long.

It is unclear how the elderly cyclist was injured in the initial hit-and-run.

Just 30 minutes later, the two teenagers allegedly filmed themselves mowing down Probst – a retired police chief in California – as he rode his bike in a designated bike lane.

Horrific video footage from the front passenger seat shows the stolen vehicle approaching Probst from behind and suddenly slamming into him, sending him sliding onto the hood and into the windshield.

The laughing teenagers then allegedly drove the car, which was covered in blood, about 10 minutes away, the source said — before stealing two more vehicles that then crashed into each other near the mall.

Ayala, the driver, was arrested just a few hours later – and bragged to police while in custody that he wouldn’t be locked up for long, KLAS reported.

“You think this teenager [expletive] will do some [expletive]? I’ll be out in 30 days, I’ll bet you,” Ayala told police, according to KLAS.

“Just ah, [expletive] ah, hit and run — slap on the wrist.”

Ayala was charged with 18 charges, including murder, attempted murder and grand larceny.

His passenger, Keys, was arrested on Tuesday.

Both teenagers were charged as adults, according to authorities.

During their brief appearance in court, the two teenagers did not speak and they were not asked to enter a plea.

“Justice will be served in this case,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson vowed.
