Although surveillance video showed that he was tapped on the shoulder, Victor Wembanyama claimed that he was “tapped” by the pop star in a video shared by KENS reporter Nate Ryan on Twitter.
“I saw the news clearly,” he said in the video. “I woke up to some phone calls. Something happened a little while I was walking with some security forces to some restaurants. We were in the hall and there were a lot of people so people called me clearly.”
He said he remembered “someone” calling his name repeatedly, despite his security team urging him not to stop. “The man grabbed me from behind,” he continued. “I didn’t see what was happening because I was walking straight and they told me ‘Don’t stop.’ But that person held me from behind, held my shoulder.
