Video captures popular YouTuber’s stricken girlfriend moments after ex-boyfriend shoots her — before killing himself

Horrific video captures the moments after a popular YouTuber’s girlfriend was shot in the leg by her brutal ex-boyfriend in West Virginia on Friday — and the sounds of the gunman then killing himself.

YouTuber Hunter Avallone, known for debating conservatives online, was in his Martinsburg apartment with girlfriend Holle Peno, a Twitch streamer, when his 11-year-old ex appeared and shot through the door, hitting Peno in the leg, the streamer wrote on Instagram.

Avallone, who has more than half a million subscribers, began filming moments after Peno was shot, stating in the recording that his host had warned him about a “shady” man in the place with a gun under his jacket.

Peno’s ex-boyfriend, referred to as Conrad in the video, died of a suicide after shooting through the door of Avallone’s apartment, according to the post. The couple had split a few weeks earlier, according to Peno’s social media account.

“I recorded the last moments where we were hiding on the back porch,” Avallone wrote next to footage showing Peno looking distraught and bloodied.

“You could hear him shooting at the police before finally taking his own life … in the hallway of my own f-king apartment,” Avallone wrote.

Avallone appears to be on the phone with police at one point in the video, telling them the suspect knocked loudly on the door and they could hear screaming.

A voice can then be heard in the video shouting, “Show your f–king hands! Show me your hand!” before several gunshots rang out and the video ended abruptly.

“Still trying to process this. Holle and I are physically ok but mentally, this will cause serious damage,” Avallone wrote. “Holle was amazing and she was so brave and strong throughout this test.”

Peno, who has nearly 17,000 followers, posted emotional video to X on Sunday said, “It felt like my soul was torn in half.

“Every time I close my eyes, I see him lying there,” Peno said through tears. “I hate how that was the last time I saw him because he wasn’t that bad. He’s good sometimes.”

In an Instagram post Sunday, Peno said she started “out of shock.

“I feel so torn inside. I loved him for 11 years despite the abuse, and he didn’t love me enough to let me go,” she wrote.

A GoFundMe set up by fellow Twitch streamers to cover Peno’s hospital bills states that her ex tried to shoot the police before killing himself. More than $4,000 had been raised by Sunday evening.

“The money will be used to pay hospital bills, and pay for his own personal expenses from not being able to work, including the cost of therapy, travel, food, existing debts and everything he needs in the near future,” the fundraiser said. .

“Now that he’s graduated, he still has to pay the accumulated debt that they both share. This fund is an umbrella that aims to cover as much as possible so that he can restore his life again,” he said.

The Martinsburg Police Department had no comment when reached by The Post on Sunday.

But in a statement to the Daily Mail, the department confirmed the incident, writing, “On Friday, December 8, an unknown man arrived at the location armed with a shotgun. The individual fired the firearm through the exterior door of the building, striking a female victim.

“Immediately responding to the scene, Martinsburg Police officers engaged the armed suspect as he attempted to break down the interior apartment door while continuing to fire his weapon,” the statement said.

“An exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the suspect killing himself.”

Avallone did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment Sunday.
