The drama surrounding Wendy Williams’ well-being worsened as the entertainer’s manager hit back at her son’s claims of over-exploitation.
Before her health worsened in late 2021, the New Jersey native made waves in the entertainment industry for her outspoken nature. Thanks to his various appearances on TV and radio shows, the 58-year-old is a man to be reckoned with.
Following his withdrawal from the limelight, those responsible for the media personality’s welfare have been surrounded by controversy. After the broadcaster’s son expressed concern about the malice going on behind the scenes, his manager shared his story.
Wendy Williams’ Manager Addresses Her Son’s Latest Claims About Her Cheating Squad
In an exclusive interview with ET Online about the “Wendy’s Got the Heat” author’s health, her manager Will Selby vehemently denied the allegations against her.
Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., recently raised eyebrows after airing suspicions that his mother’s team had run away. The 22-year-old woman believes the “Think Like A Man” actor’s wealth is being misused. At the same time, the 58-year-old allegedly struggled with alcoholism, a condition the college student claimed did not allow the entertainer to make sound judgment.
Addressing these accusations, Selby insists he has no use for the wealth of Northeastern University alums. “Taking advantage of him for what? To get what? To do what? I’m not here to brag, but I was doing well before Wendy came, and I insisted on helping her because she asked for my help,” said the manager.
In addition, a representative of the star of “The Wendy Williams Show” explained that contrary to Hunter’s belief, it is impossible for anyone to abuse the influence of a media personality. Speaking about New Jersey court-appointed guardianships, Selby asserted:
“Wendy is under care. Everything he does is approved by the guardian. Guardianship appointed by the court. So, nobody, even if they want to take advantage of it — everything has to be approved by the court.”
The former jeweler continued, “So, any business deal that we do, Wendy, myself and anybody else — we have to get a guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of it?”
Shawn Zanotti, representative of the author of “Hold Me in Contempt”, shared the same opinion about Hunter’s interview. “This publication has issued a false narrative that aims to end the story without thoroughly examining the information, which is detrimental to the public and is unprofessional and unethical. We ask that the world continue to pray for Wendy’s well-being as she continues to recover from two very traumatic years.

Williams’ health battles included Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and what he said was alcoholism. However, the manager of the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree revealed the 58-year-old is on the road to recovery.
“Wendy is at the facility doing her best to be the best. He’s taking it day by day,” Selby said before slamming the world for focusing on negative stories about the entertainer. “And that’s another thing, is anybody asking like, ‘How’s it going? Does anyone care?”
“Everyone is just putting out negative information about him, and that’s the focus. Why don’t we pause and say, ‘Hey, how’s he doing? Is he well today?’ Why isn’t that in the spotlight?” the talent manager lamented, asking fans to empathize with the TV personality’s struggles.
Inside NAACP Image Award Nominee Kevin Hunter Jr.’s Explosive Interview
In a recent heart-to-heart interview, the TV personality’s only son broke his silence about his mother’s well-being at the hands of people he doesn’t trust. Although the New Jersey native’s health is faltering, the college student claims his team is not putting his welfare first.
“What is made more important by the people around him is that even though his health may not be so good, he needs to continue to generate income, and in my opinion, that should not be a priority at all,” the young adult revealed.

Hunter’s jab seemed to be directed at Selby as he stated that his mother had been taken advantage of by “whoever was hired.” The college student shared the same opinion about the TV personality’s court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.
Painting a picture of an evil plan, the young man confessed that he believed Morrissey was in cahoots with Selby, whom he called a goldsmith. Discussing their alleged relationship, the 22-year-old said:
“I know that Sabrina has a relationship with the jeweler, and I’m going to assume, though, that they’re cool with each other. This is how this was created. And it seems it’s more about making sure she [Morrissey] its okay.”
