Hank Azaira, along with the main cast of “Friends”, were present at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on November 3 for Perry’s funeral.

As we reported, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible ‘water rescue’ at Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades home. When first responders arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actress in her hot tub, unresponsive.

She is believed to have drowned, but an autopsy and toxicology report will answer more questions about her exact cause of death. Prescription anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs were reportedly found at Matthew Perry’s home following his tragic death, although sources say no illegal narcotics were found at the scene.

After Perry’s funeral, “Friends” actor Hank Azaria spoke out, describing how the funeral consisted of laughter and tears.

“I was at a funeral last weekend. You know, sad. He’s a funny guy, so we’ll do it [be] alternating between laughing and crying remembering him,” shared Azaira about the 54-year-old actor. “We all have lost people. The world has truly lost him. In a way, it’s good to share the world with you,” he added.

Azaria credits Perry with helping him get sober because the late actor took him to his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in 2005.

“Whatever I can do to further his mission, spread the word of recovery, and help people, I’ll do whatever I can,” Azaria said of wanting to help others get sober like Perry wanted. “Matthew Perry said that he wants to be remembered as someone who helped people to become aware, even more than he wants to be remembered as a very funny and famous Friend. I think he will be remembered as both,” explained Azaria.

“I know that I will always think of him that way. We met almost 40 years ago, and he is, by far, the funniest friend I’ve ever had. He is also the person who helped me realize,” added Azaira.

Matthew Perry has struggled with addiction for a long time, including during his years filming the hit television show, “Friends.” After he got clean, he opened up about his struggle with addiction. “You know, the thing that always makes me cry, and I hope I’m not crying here… is that it’s not fair,” Perry said a few years ago.

“No, it’s not fair that I have to go through this disease while the other five don’t,” he continued. “They got everything I got. But I had to fight this and still have to fight this.”
