The first episode of Race to live: Alaska will air next week, and it will feature eight teams competing to live along the Alaskan coast while confronting severe weather, challenging terrain, and unknown territory. The endurance program will feature 16 competitors fighting in two-person teams. Hakim Isler, a seasoned survival specialist and head of Elevo Dynamics, is one of the players scheduled to appear in the forthcoming program. According to his USA NEtwork bio:
“Hakim, 45, is a skilled psy ops Army veteran who owns a survival school where he teaches vets suffering from PTSD basic survival skills.”
The season debut of Race to Survive: Alaska will air on Monday, April 3 at 11 p.m. ET.

The war survivor and co-founder of Spirit Quest, a professional survival specialist, is scheduled to participate in the forthcoming survival reality television program. Hakim is a military soldier who served in Iraq, according to his profile on Race to Survive: Alaska. He served as a Psychological Operations Sergeant in the Army’s Special Operations Forces during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Hakim is the co-founder of Elevo Dynamics’ The DOJY, a martial arts and 24-hour school. He has over a decade of expertise and an extra 15 years in the “security field,” according to his resume, which summarizes his experiences:
“Hakim is an Iraq war veteran and former member of the Army Special Operations community, where he received Arabic language training, survival training, evasion training, paratrooper training, and other specialized training.”
The future USA Network program competitor holds a 5th-degree black belt in To-Shin Do and studied with Black Belt Hall of Famer and author Stephen K. Hayes. He also holds a First Degree Black Belt in Manog, an FCS Kali, and a Tiger Kali First Degree Black Belt. He has previously been featured on Discovery Channel’s Naked & Afraid, Naked & Afraid XL, and Fox’s Kicking & Screaming, according to his website. He appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019 and showed his survival abilities using domestic objects.
When questioned why “moms” need survival skills, the future Race to Survive: Alaska competitor stated that “survival is the hot topic in today’s world.”
“There are disasters right in your own backyard; there are fires, blizzards, and floods, so everyone needs to know at least the basics.”
He added that mothers always bring emergency tools with them and used a baby backpack to demonstrate this. He also mentioned that baby backpacks include drinks, food, a first-aid box, and sunblock. The competitor stated that baby purses may contain items that people frequently neglect, such as hand disinfectant, and added:
“Hand San has a high alcohol content; you can use it to start a fire or to make a small stove out of a can if necessary.”
Hakim went on to say that the diaper itself can be used as a cloth to halt hemorrhaging as well as a patch.
