Meet Patrick Xavier Clark, One Of The Murder Suspects In The Departed Rapper Shooting
Patrick Xavier Clark, the suspect in the shooting death of Migos rapper Takeoff, has been charged. He was arrested on December 1, 2022 at 7:32 pm.
“He was charged with the murder of Depart,” Chief Troy Finner said in a news conference. Take off was shot at a party at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, on November 1, 2022.
Click2Houston reports that Patrick plans to flee to Mexico with a large amount of cash. A document obtained by the media explained, “The defendant fired a firearm at the crowd and hit the complainant’s back and head, causing his death. Furthermore, the low bond was unreasonable and insufficient to ensure the defendant’s appearance in court based on his successful efforts to obtain an expedited passport shortly after the murder and his travel schedule to Mexico.”
Following the news of Patrick’s arrest, the Daily Beast reported that the alleged killer was a popular strip club promoter by the name of DJ Pat. According to the outlet, Patrick is “a well-known local promoter, who runs a strip club and has a large social media presence.” He reportedly runs “The Flame HTX, a strip club that Clark posts regularly on social media to his 20,000-plus followers”.
Rapper Jmali told the Daily Beast that she doesn’t believe Clark is violent. “You could see by everyone’s reaction that we were shocked because that’s not the type of person [Clark] is,” Jmali told The Daily Beast. “…He is about business, not violence.”
The departure was recorded on November 1, 2022, in the early hours of the morning, according to TMZ, which announced the news first. The sad news was later confirmed to The Associated Press by a Migos official. An entertainment news website published a video of Quavo, a rapper with Migos, verbally sparring before filming began.
Departed was watching from outside the group, but he didn’t seem to be involved in the argument. Following a conversation about playing basketball, about 10 shots were fired from two separate guns, according to TMZ.
Depart was found dead at the scene, outside the front door, according to Houston Police Sergeant Michael Arrington, who spoke at the news conference. Two additional people with non-life-threatening injuries independently visited local hospitals. They are male, 23, and female, 24, respectively.
The employee said there was an “incident that happened after the party ended.” It’s a private party. When it was over, a large group of people gathered outside the building. “It led to an argument, where a shooting occurred from a disagreement,” heavy reported.
Many bystanders fled the scene, and police hope they will contact the homicide division or Crime Stoppers to provide “any information” or video.
“We’re looking for anything to help us,” Arrington said. “We want to find justice for this family. They are going through a lot right now.”
TMZ based its report on law enforcement sources and multiple witnesses. According to TMZ, the shooting happened shortly after 2:30 am
That’s when police “got a call that a man had been shot at a bowling alley called 810 Billiard & Bowling Houston,” TMZ reported. According to TMZ, Takeoff and Quavo were playing dice “when an argument ensued” and Takeoff was shot “either in the head or near the head.”
Police allege that Takeoff was not a direct participant in the altercation although Takeoff’s uncle and bandmate Quavo were spotted arguing with others prior to the shooting. The rapper, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot amid the commotion and pronounced dead at the scene.
Cameron Joshua, who allegedly owned a firearm with Patrick, may cooperate as a witness in the prosecution of Patrick Xavier Clark. Joshua is believed to be one of dozens who attended the party at 810 Billiards & Bowling that night – and who saw the violence unfold.
Prosecutors asked that if he is granted bail, he be placed under house arrest and barred from communicating with Shakur Stevenson’s staff, J. Prince Jr., and his family, as well as Takeoff’s family.
