Who Is Vincent ‘Vinny’ Alia From “Next Level Chef” Season 2?

Next Level Chef season 2 will feature 18 chefs from across the country competing in the most epic and incredible culinary war ever. Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington, and Richard Blais will guide the chefs as they are separated into six teams. Vincent Alia is one of six chefs chosen to work with Team Gordon Ramsay.

Vincent Alia, a 43-year-old home cook, hails from Columbia, South Carolina. He currently works as a firefighter in Westminster, Massachusetts.

Next Level Chef Competitor Vincent “Vinny” Alia was in the United States Navy for four years.

Vincent graduated from Leominster High School in 1997 and spent four years in the United States Navy before joining the Leominster Fire Department and EMT in 2004. He was a self-taught chef who enjoyed cooking for his fire department. He specializes in chicken piccata. Vincent is known for “putting elements together” to see what he can produce. His Italian family was responsible for his lifelong passion for cooking, which he developed as a youngster.

As a single parent, Vincent is raising his 9-year-old daughter Madison. He suffered a heart attack in December and will be watching the premiere episode at home with his daughter, his two nieces, Erin McKenna, his daughter’s mother, and her husband, Dave, and his sister Ashley and her husband, Mike.

He is currently unable to work but is enrolled in Mount Wachusett Community College online coursework. In an interview, Vincent stated:

“I’m just trying to improve myself for the fire department.”

He went on to say that his family and friends were all very enthusiastic about the whole thing.

Vincent “Vinny” Alia did not complete the Next Level Chef season 2 application form himself.

While watching the first season of Next Level Chef, Alia’s colleague Shawn Phillips filled out a 40-page application for her, putting “Firehouse Cook” in the application. Vincent was surprised when the producers of the show asked for some pictures and said:

“I’m just a fireman’s cook. I don’t own any dishes, and I don’t know how to make anything look elegant.”

The pictures got him an interview, and the publisher liked his attitude and background. He was allowed to take part in the show, but he tested positive for Covid in London, where he was meant to be filming for the competition. Alia finally met the Next Level Chef mentor after the producers gave her five days to appear on the site. In an interview, he described the whole event as “unreal,” adding:

“It was like being thrust into the NFL as a high school football player.”

Vincent mentioned that the pace, performance, feel, and delivery were all important aspects of his experience on the program.
