Whoopi Goldberg has slammed Donald Trump for comments he made about the mismanagement of the Social Security benefits program. He claimed that “Social Security is not a right,” adding that US citizens “pay for it.”

On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Goldberg discussed Trump’s comments about the United States running Medicare and Social Security programs, each Fox News.

The former president has said during CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that “there is a lot” that can be done “in terms of “cutting back and also theft and poor management of rights.”

“I know that they’re going to end up undermining Social Security because this country is weak,” Trump added, taking advantage of policies already in place by President Joe Biden.

In response to Trump’s remarks, Goldberg directed a dig at the billionaire, saying, “Yes, we can put you in jail for all your rights.”

He then added, “Social Security is not a right. We paid for that,” amid cheers from the studio audience.

He then admitted that he had been a “big fan of the Supreme Court,” which he followed up with an accusatory statement about them giving Trump protection through their rulings.

The Supreme Court decision follows months of debate over whether Colarado’s decision to impeach Trump under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment should stand.

The state disqualified Trump after a petition was brought by a group of voters who argued Trump should be disqualified from the ballot, alleging that he had a role in the January 6, 2021 riots at the US Capitol.

In that decision, the Supreme Court said that Colorado and other states were not authorized to invoke the rebellion clause.

“We conclude that the State can disqualify persons holding or attempting to hold state office. But the States have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 in respect of federal offices, especially the Presidency,” read their unanimous decision, per CNN.

They added, “Nothing in the Constitution delegates to the States any power to enforce Section 3 against federal office holders and candidates.”
