On a recent episode of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg said that she listened to the audiobook version of Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me.” He described the book as “magnificent” before praising it as “funny,” “moving” and “just great.” He noted how the book portrayed a different side of Britney than that shown in headlines over the years, prompting approval from the panel.
Whoopi also praised Michelle Williams’ narration of the book, calling it “delicious.” At the end of the conversation, he went on to talk about an experience Britney described earlier in her career, where she didn’t really care what the audience thought of her singing and dancing, because she just wanted to perform.
“This is what we do in the media. We make judgment calls and then they stick because our words carry weight. So until we walk a mile in people’s shoes, maybe we need to be less judgmental,” he said to a standing ovation from the audience. “Maybe. Maybe. Or maybe not. We’re only human.”
