Whoopi Goldberg Discusses Britney Spears’ ‘Delicious’ Memoir On ‘The View’

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of “The View” are finally ready to talk about Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

However, now that the book has sold more than a million copies and is a New York Times bestseller, “The View” panel reflects on the book and its impact.

“This is what we do in the media. We make judgment calls and then they stick because our words carry weight. So until we walk a mile in people’s shoes, maybe we need to be less judgmental,” he said to a standing ovation from the audience. “Maybe. Maybe. Or maybe not. We’re only human.”

Fans Take on Whoopi Goldberg’s Take

Love this! Thanks for calling out the media and their bullshit. Entertainment media is very good and unhealthy. Can’t wait to read Britney’s book.

One Britney fan who seemed upset with the way the Pop Princess was portrayed in the headline commented, “Love this! Thanks for calling out the media and their bullshit. Entertainment media is like that [toxic] and not healthy. Can’t wait to read Britney’s book.”

Damn, you just cursed Ivanka and then turned right on the Brit story and said “our words carry weight” – remember that. Or at least be consistent in your messaging and maybe look in the mirror. @ABCNetwork @Disney @Robertiger it’s been a week full of hate.

However, another user noted that Whoopi may need to take her own advice on how to address Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, as she appeals a judge’s order to testify in the New York fraud trial.

One user commented, “Wow, you just curse Ivanka and then turn right on the Brit story and say ‘our words carry weight’ – remember that. Or at least be consistent in your messaging and maybe look in the mirror.”

Although the former couple’s relationship was riddled with allegations of infidelity and an unplanned pregnancy, “The View” panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin felt the “Cry Me A River” singer deserved “a little mercy” for what happened more than two decades ago. On Monday’s episode of “The View: Behind The Table” podcast, Alyssa Farah Griffin told “The View” executive producer Brian Teta that the news that Britney had an abortion at 19 was “gut-wrenching.”

Alyssa said that she “felt strongly that both her parents [should] speak up about what happened with the child” in comments transcribed by Page Six. “I’m going to try to give them both some grace,” he said, noting that “The View” wanted to talk about it, but noted that it was “different on several levels.”

“Think of the pressure these two young icons were under at that time,” he continued. “They have to live this myth and pretend – while playing very ‘sexy’ people in their public lives – [that] they’re still virgins, which as an adult now I’m like ‘of course not.'”

The former White House aide went on to say, “I think it reveals such a human side to the story that, in retrospect, it really makes sense that they went through all that struggle,” adding, “The challenge it presents is that it’s a difficult topic. to be discussed in the context of reproductive health.” She also noted that the confession must have been “heartbreaking” for Britney, who wrote in her memoir that she only went through with the abortion because “Justin was so convinced that he didn’t want to be a father.”

“But I hope for her, talking about it really helped and now you see how important having kids is to her. She has her kids, she’s talked about wanting to have more … I could dissect how Britney was treated for hours,” Griffin said. . “The pressure of being hyper-sexualized to have to pretend to be a virgin. They both, in different ways, go through it— and I’m going to try to give them both a little grace in it.”
