Whoopi Goldberg SLAMS Millennial Work Ethic, Says Her Generation ‘Busted Our Behinds’

Famous actress and TV personality Whoopi Goldberg, 67, expressed her concern about the work ethic of millennials who put in little work but have high goals and aspirations.

Goldberg, a baby boomer with an estimated fortune of $85 million, criticized younger generations for being entitled and lacking dedication to their careers, praising his generation for busting “our backs” to get “all kinds of stuff.”

During a tense session on Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” Goldberg blasted many millennials with unrealistic expectations of work hours and rewards.

Her claim was made in response to co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin’s claim about her generation as “the generator of the housing crisis, the financial crisis and 9/11.”

Griffin, a millennial herself at age 34, lamented that her generation has been “at war” all the time and nearly half of them “live with their parents,” adding that “the American dream is different.”

“About having children specifically, I understand. Most of my friends, if they’re not married by a certain age, they don’t own a home at the same rate, and you don’t want to have kids if you don’t feel like you can provide for them,” Griffin continued, advising millennials to consider “freezing your eggs” if finances are the reason they delay having children.

In response, Goldberg responded by saying, “But, I’m sorry, if you only want to work four hours, it’s going to be harder for you to get a house.”

He added, per Daily Mail, “I feel for everyone who feels this, but I’m sorry, we busted our backs. We had to turn back because we had no choice to go back. We have all kinds of stuff.”

He Demands Millennials To Do Better

Elsewhere during their conversation, Griffin agreed with Goldberg’s claims but defended millennials, noting that they are “statistically the first generation that is probably worse off than their parents.”

The “Sister Act” star protested, saying, “That’s what they told us too. Every generation is told that you will do worse than your parents.”

He also refuted Griffin’s claims at one point, stating that “every generation comes and wants to do better than their parents.”

Goldberg went on to criticize millennials, saying, “People take it, and they do what they do, and they raise themselves. And this is what you have to do. It’s called being a good citizen.”

Also, on the show, Goldberg shared a personal story about his health. She opened up about her diagnosis of endometriosis 40 years ago and the complications that arose from the condition, according to Daily Mail.

Goldberg was joined by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and filmmaker Shannon Cohn during a discussion on women’s health that shed light on Cohn’s new documentary, “Below The Belt,” about endometriosis.

Goldberg recounts a challenging experience when he developed a urinary tract infection that “looked like cottage cheese.” She described the infection as “gross” and expressed her frustration at the lack of understanding of endometriosis at the time.

Speaking about Cohn’s new documentary, he said, “When I saw this documentary, and I heard that it took them six to ten years to get a diagnosis, I didn’t understand that. What are they doing in medical school?!”

“It makes me furious that we still have to beg for healthcare. We pay taxes; women pay taxes! I don’t understand why when doctors go to school forever, they aren’t taught about the female body!” he complained.

Goldberg, Sara Haines, and Ana Navarro recently took aim at Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump, for her attempts to delay her testimony in her father’s trial.

The controversy arose when Ivanka previously tried to postpone her scheduled testimony due to “child care issues” because it fell in the middle of the school week.

Following that, during a segment on his talk show, “The View,” Goldberg mocked Ivanka’s actions, claiming that testifying in her father’s $250 million trial would cause “undue hardship.”

“A judge didn’t buy Ivanka’s claim that she can’t come to New York because of ‘child custody issues,'” he said sarcastically. “The judge said, ‘I don’t think it’s going to fly, honey.'”

Ivanka testified on Tuesday, November 8, following her brother, Donald Jr. and Eric, who has taken the stand before.
