The resurgent “Friends” scene now hits fans differently, as Monica (Courteney Cox) calls Chandler (Matthew Perry) a “drowning idiot.”
As we reported, police responded to a 911 call over the weekend to assist with a possible ‘water rescue’ at Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades home. When first responders arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actress in her hot tub, unresponsive. She is believed to have drowned, but an autopsy and toxicology report will answer more questions about her exact cause of death.
Now, knowing that Matthew Perry may have drowned, the scene where Monica calls Chandler a “drowning idiot” hit “Friends” fans differently.

Now, an episode of “Friends” is getting a lot of attention because the line that Courteney Cox’s character says to Matthew Perry’s character is quite ironic, and also very sad.
In one episode of “Friends,” Monica and Chandler are getting ready to take their wedding announcement photos, when Chandler has trouble smiling in front of the camera. As a joke, Monica, played by Courteney Cox, says, “Chandler, what’s wrong with your face? Like this picture should say ‘Geller and Bing are getting married’ not a local woman saving a drowning idiot.”
The cameraman then laughs, to which Monica says, “Hey, don’t laugh at him. He’s my drowned fool.”

Rachel’s older sister Amy, played by Christina Applegate, claims she will get custody of Emma, however, she has never been a part of Rachel’s life, so the two break the news that Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry ) will take over taking care of Emma if anything happens to Rachel or Ross.
This starts an argument between all the friends, but it’s not until Chandler breaks all of Monica’s prized china that he says, “I think I’ll be the one who dies first,” referring to the fact that his character will die. before the other five friends because Monica was going to ‘kill’ him.

Perry was found on Saturday evening, in his jacuzzi, leading many to speculate he may have relapsed.
