William H. Macy Sued By Neighbor For $600,000, Accused Of ‘Killing’ His Trees

William H. Macy was accused of trespassing on his neighbor’s property to “kill” some trees, and now he’s being sued for $600,000.

According to new legal documents obtained by The Blast, the famous actor is being dragged back to court just a few years after being embroiled in a college admissions scandal.

In the new filing, the actor’s Los Angeles neighbors claim that in December 2021, the ‘Shameless’ star hired several workers to help him remove some trees on his property. Happy chainsaw cutters allegedly took their jobs too seriously and overcut and felled several trees that weren’t Macy’s property.

The neighbor, Pierce Brown, claimed he was out of town at the time and was unable to stop the workers from cutting down trees, bushes and foliage on his private property.

When he returned from vacation, he said he witnessed the destruction.

The lawsuit states, “Macy’s employees subsequently destroyed and removed or seriously damaged several healthy, decades-old mature pine trees and other vegetation from the Brown Property. Pine trees and other vegetation are within the Brown Property line. While accessing the Brown Property, Macy’s employees damaged the gate connecting the two properties.”

The Boogie night the actor admits the work was done, but Brown believes it was intentional even though his famous neighbor described it as an honest accident.

“Defendant Macy came to Brown’s door to discuss the condition of Brown’s hillside. Macy’s admitted its employees’ entry onto Brown’s Property, their lack of permission to do so, and the destruction and removal of, and damage to, Brown’s trees and vegetation,” read court papers.

However, Brown states, “During his ownership, possession, and control of the Macy’s Property, without consent or authority, and against (Brown’s) will, Macy knowingly and willfully directed his employees to enter the Brown’s Property to destroy and remove multiple large pine trees and mature and other plants from the Brown Property.”

This sounds like a neighborhood war episode on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Macy’s neighbor went full tilt, claiming the trees were “killed” and that they made a mess all over the yard.

He wrote, “The actions of Macy and his workers destabilized the hillside by killing trees and vegetation, and thereby, killing the root systems of trees and vegetation that help support hillside stability. The defendant further damaged the gate connecting the two properties.”

Brown is worried about the value of his property plummeting, saying, “The actions of Macy’s and the other Defendants also caused Brown loss of property value, loss of use and enjoyment of his property, loss of privacy, increased noise, as well as emotional distress, irritation, annoyance, and discomfort.”

Finally, Brown claims to have “suffered damages because he is now forced to incur considerable expense to restore the hillside stability lost by the destruction of (Macy’s) Brown pines and other vegetation.”
