Looking back on his past, Smith admits, “I saw at a very young age the dark path I could take.” “I think I kind of caught myself before my coping mechanism kicked in too early. I just knew I was on that edge. I could feel it.” he added.
During that period, he could not fully understand the intensity of his emotions. However, looking back, he expresses gratitude for making the choice to take a step back.

Describing his feelings at the time, Smith stated, “I just knew everything felt wrong and even though I was experiencing fear in my everyday life in regards to my music. 1695013677. Fear is the fear of ‘upward and forward motion’. It’s not, like, a deep heartbreak like a world-shattering fear.”

Willow Smith isn’t the only member to be open about their personal experiences with their mental state.
Jaden Smith, Willow’s older brother, recently revealed that their mother, Jada Pinkett, took the first step in exploring psychedelic drug use in their family.
Speaking at the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver on June 23, Jaden shared, “I think my mom, actually, was the first person to make that move for the family.” He explained that it was only their mother for a significant period, but eventually, the exploration expanded to other family members in their own unique ways.
Jaden emphasized that psychedelics have played a role in strengthening his bond with Willow, 22, and his half-brother Trey Smith, 30 — Will Smith’s son from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.

Jada Pinkett has previously shared her journey with psychedelics, specifically plant medicine, which she began exploring about ten years ago to improve her mental well-being.
