He recently sat down with Bevy Smith on Sirius XM’s “Bevelations” and got candid about his decision to step back from the spotlight.
Smith is a big fan of people who “walk away” and praised the 21-year-old for doing just that.

“I saw at a very young age the dark path I could take,” he admits. “I think I kind of caught myself before my coping mechanism kicked in too early. I just knew I was on that edge. I could feel it.”
At the time he didn’t know what it felt like, but explained he was so grateful he made the decision to step back.
Willow notes that if she hadn’t backed down there might have been some “earlier tragedies.”
“I knew I had to be a kid,” Willow continued. “Going 12 I’ve touched a sadness that I didn’t know existed… and it was scary, because I was like, ‘I’ve never felt this before. This is clearly not healthy and I need this top before it becomes a darker place.”

He goes on to explain how “it feels wrong, I just know everything feels wrong and even though I experience fear in my everyday life related to my music. 1710757119. Fear is the fear of ‘upward and forward motion’. It’s not, like, a deep heartbreak like a world-shattering fear.”
Willow said her taller self told her “No. This is going to be bad for you.”
He listened to his higher self and everything worked out for the best.
Earlier this year, Willow’s father famously slapped Chris Rock at the 98th Academy Awards in an unprecedented moment.
After the March 27 awards show, Willow asked her fans for a favor.

Willow’s message and request of kindness comes after her mother’s plea for healing.
The message read, “You know who is going through a lot right now? Literally everyone. Do good.”
On March 29, Jada shared a note that read, “Tis the season for healing and I’m ready for it.”
Across the aisle of peace and love is Jaden Smith, Will’s second son, and Jada’s firstborn.

Although he could have been referring to his dad’s Oscar win, Twitterati took it in the context of the slap and a debate ensued.
Someone responded to Jaden’s post, “Watching your dad have a violent emotional breakdown over a lighthearted joke on live TV and in front of every important person in Hollywood isn’t as bad as you think.”
Another blasted him to which he replied, “Jaden, your father is a 53 year old grown man. Dude should have their shit together, by now. I would actually be embarrassed to see my dad act like this, in public. Especially when it comes to vanilla jokes, from professional comedians..”
