Last July, The Blast shared Wolfgang’s insight into what and who brought his father’s tribute concert to a halt and if it would ever happen. He sat down with a reporter from Rolling Stone, discussing the proposed tribute, among other topics.

During the interview, the interviewer questioned the circumstances of the tribute concert, which would involve his uncle, Alex Van Halen, and Joe Satriani. He replied:

“All I can say is that there is an attempt to do something. But, you know, I don’t like to talk negative about people, but there are some people who make it very difficult to do anything when it comes to Van Halen.”

Elaborating on the topic, he shared that the problem stemmed from his late father’s band, saying, “But, you know, ever since I was in Van Halen, there’s always been some things that got in the way of just making music and having fun. time. And, I think, that’s what happened.”

As a result, he called out the fans’ attitude towards the group “Van Halen”, claiming that they could contribute to the neglect of the concert. He said, “I know how Van Halen fans get. They are highly motivated by certain people they like in the group. And it’s not worth it,” then said, “we’ve made an attempt, and some people might find it hard to cooperate and make it not happen.”
