Woman behind infamous acrobatic horse show fiasco arrested hiring hitman to murder husband for $2M

A California woman known for her involvement in a failed multimillion-dollar horse show that made headlines a decade ago has been charged with trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

Tatyana Remley, 42, was arrested in a sting operation at a Solana Beach Starbucks in early August, about a month after her husband Mark Remley discovered she had offered a mutual friend $2 million to kill him.

Mr Remley went to the police himself after he learned of the plan from the same friend his estranged wife had bribed to kill him.

After the arrest, he also told police he burned his house to the ground days before trying to organize the attack, Coast News reported.

Ms. Remley also faces charges for possessing a firearm that was not registered to her.

He faces up to nine years in prison on the conspiracy charge, plus another year on the weapons charge.

The incident is the latest in the couple’s 12-year marriage.

Married in 2011, the Remleys made headlines a year later after they hosted an elaborate multi-million dollar equestrian acrobatic show called Valitar.

The extravaganza was canceled after only a few performances, however, and its crew and performers were left empty-handed.

Over the years the couple has filed for divorce and rekindled the marriage numerous times, and each has accused the other of violence against the other.

In their most recent divorce filing in May, Ms. Remley accused her husband of putting a gun to his head in one incident, chasing him around their home with a knife in another, and discharging a gun in their home during an argument in a third. .

Despite the problems, the couple maintains a lavish lifestyle together, which includes multiple homes, sports cars, boats, travel, exotic pets, and large monthly expenses, according to documents from their latest divorce filing.

“The wife is under extreme financial pressure. He couldn’t keep his monthly expenses realistic at just $12,000, approx [than] what he used to do on $50,000,” the petition asking for spousal support read.

“He has no income and does not have the same access to funds and assets that the Respondent does.”

In addition to the monthly stipend, Ms. Remley demanded access to one of their homes, their two trucks, their ATV and their pet parrot.

Mr Remley has denied his wife’s allegations.

He remains in jail and will appear in court in October.
