A woman involved in the slaying of a 5-year-old boy whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in an Indiana forest last year has pleaded guilty to her role in the gruesome crime.
Louisiana native Dawn Elaine Coleman pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder this month after authorities said she and the boy’s mother, Dejuane Ludie Anderson, were behind Cairo Jordan’s death, the Courier Journal reported.
Anderson, an Atlanta native, is still on the lam.

The disturbing case began in April 2022 when a mushroom hunter found a suitcase with the words “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” written on it.
The child found inside died of dehydration, police said earlier.
Jordan was identified six months after the discovery.

Details of the plea deal reached between Coleman and prosecutors were not immediately clear. His sentencing is set for November 21, the Kurier Journal reported.
Authorities are still searching for the mother, who faces murder charges.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls said in April police believed Anderson was out west, possibly in Los Angeles or Las Vegas, the newspaper reported.

Before the child’s death, his mother allegedly made a Facebook post about him being a demon and needing to be exorcised.
