Woman shares the hilarious video she sent her boss while in labor

In what could be called the most important display of a strong work ethic, Tamara Drpić, a soon-to-be mother, has the internet after sharing a video her boss sent her from the labor room.

Dressed in a hospital gown, with a cocktail of excitement and fentanyl-induced cheers, Tamara announced: “Hi, thanks for checking in!”

She continued, “I’m actually having the baby tonight. Right now, I’m on fentanyl because of the epidural.”

“But yeah, it’s coming sooner than I expected, but don’t worry, I’ll finish some emails and stuff. Let me know if you have any questions about One Note.”

This is definitely not your average out-of-office message, but rather a testament to working moms’ incredible (and somewhat strange) ability to multitask.

Forget about being in the middle of a life-changing moment, there are emails to send, projects to update and One Note questions to answer!

As we laugh, it’s hard to ignore the underlying reality this video shows – the hustle and bustle and relentless work culture, which can creep into even the most private moments.

This sentiment resonated with many, as one user pointed out, “The best corporate employee!”

“This is me. Admitted to the hospital at 35 weeks, a week before my mat left. I dictated an email to my husband because the meds made my hands too swollen to type,” shared another.

“This happened to me when I had a car accident and was in the hospital. Verb, ‘send proof’,” shared another user.

And this person joked, “This is the adult equivalent of my kindergartners giving me too much information about their parents’ personal lives. Hahaha.”

Tamara responded with a follow-up comment that added another layer to this stark scenario.

“Oh, it’s getting worse. It’s a shame. So imagine me, big and pregnant, walking into the labor and delivery room, holding my laptop and asking, ‘Can I use my laptop to work from there?’ because I was eight centimeters dilated, and I asked to work from the labor and delivery room. So, yes, very, very American.”
