Gal Gadot To Play Evil Queen In Live Action ‘Snow White’

While the “Red Notice” actress is currently starring in Netflix’s spy thriller “Heart of Stone,” she’ll also star alongside Rachel Zegler as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action “Snow White” remake, which will be released next year.

Gadot recently opened up about the film to People magazine in an interview that took place before the SAG-AFTRA strike. She said that the three daughters she shares with her husband, entrepreneur Jaron Varsano, Alma, 11, Maya 6, and Daniella, 2, are “very excited” to see the film.

“My middle child is a little upset because I’m not Snow White,” Gadot revealed. “When I told them I was going to shoot Snow White [a] month, he was convinced that I would play Snow White. But when I told her ‘No, that’s the evil queen,’ my eldest said, ‘Oh, how fitting.'”

In a previous interview with Vogue Hong Kong, Gadot said that “it was so much fun to play the Evil Queen,” reminding fans that she was the first Disney villain.

“There is something very delicious about this part because it is a fairy tale. It’s the first Disney villain,” he told the publication for their cover story in July. “And because it’s a musical, I can extend my performance and make it more dramatic and more animated, so it’s really exciting.”

At the 2022 D23 Expo, he spoke to People magazine again, reminding fans that Disney will “modernize” the 1937 animated classic. “I want to make sure that we keep him happy and delicious, and we understand what makes him tick. Then the evil is interesting , and not just flat,” Gadot said at the time.

“For me, it makes sure the Queen isn’t just evil for the sake of being evil. There are complications. Between the two characters, it’s like a mother-daughter relationship in a strange way,” continued Gadot. “That’s what happens to a woman when she feels like she’s not relevant anymore, what can come out of her.”

She also had nothing but positive things to say about her costar, Rachel Zegler, who plays the role of Snow White. “We danced a lot, and we laughed a lot. And we’re just, at the end of the day, we’re not the type, we’re also not the type of actors that, when it’s cut, we just go to our trailer,” Gadot said.

“It was a wonderful atmosphere and commune on set. When you have good chemistry between everyone, it really shows on screen,” he added. “Snow White” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 22, 2024.
