Writer’s Strike Puts a Break on Many Shows

The writers’ strike is only in the first week and it’s clear that fans won’t get a new season of their show. Showrunners writers, producers and more are taking to social media to share that they haven’t been working as tirelessly on the shows we love as they will be this year.
So far, it’s clear news on the Late-Night front Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late ShowNBC Tonight’s Show and Late at night resting for a while HBO’s Late Night Show Real Time with Bill Maher and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is following him.
Comedy Central Daily Show also stands in solidarity with the writer. The show currently has a rotating host situation which means several comedians have lost their jobs now.

Late Night Shows Not Your Thing?

Don’t worry, no one will feel left out because now the list is expanding into a sitcom! The smash hit and Emmy-winning show was supposed to return to the writers room on Tuesday but instead. The show’s writer Brittani Nichols appeared on Democracy Now! Where he says production is closed for now. He made it clear, “We’re a show that writes as we broadcast.”
It means, “If this protest continues for a significant period of time, our show won’t come out on time and that could change the number of episodes which I’m sure people will be very upset about.”

Neil Gaiman isn’t interested in crossing his show’s writers. He took to Twitter to say so. “I’m in the Writers Guild of America. I hope this does not happen and fully support it. When I wake up tomorrow I will strike. (To avoid the inevitable question, Good Omens 2 has been completed and submitted. Although I may not be able to promote it as much as I’d hoped.)”
Ooh so close, but so far for fans who have waited literally years for the second season.
‘Yellowjacket’ Fans Should Be Worried

The show’s co-creator shared the news on Twitter that the third season is currently on hold. Ashley Lyle wrote. “Well, we had one day exactly in the writer’s room #JaketKuning S3. It’s amazing, and creatively refreshing, and a lot of fun, and I’m so excited to get back to it once the #WGA gets its fair share. #1u #unionstrong ✊?.”
This is worrying because as you can see, Yellow jacket was not an easy show to film. A lot of it was shot on location and the longer the script took the more suitable filming conditions they lost. No one wants this for any show affected by the strike.
