Meet Wyland Szabo, TikToker Brittany Jade’s Husband
TikToker Brittany Jade is married to her husband Wyland Szabo. The couple have been married since September 17, 2011 after meeting in 2008 when they were both sober 19-year-olds. Brittany had just finished alcohol treatment at the time.
They likely got engaged in July 2009. On their second wedding anniversary, Brittany posted on her Facebook, “September 17, 2011, 2 years ago today I married my best friend & September 17, 2012, 1 year ago we found out we have a girl. I love you so much, Wyley Szabo! Happy 2 year anniversary!”
The married couple brought their first child Violet Rae Szabo into the world on February 20, 2013. The couple announced their second pregnancy through a Facebook post in April 2016. They had twins this time whom they later named Levi and Cove.
In December 2021, they headline the Fox News, about their turbulent relationship. The Szabos filed for divorce in 2019 and spent $100,000 on legal bills and court costs, but the divorce proceedings were abandoned last year, the couple said Fox News. Despite the fact that they are still in debt from their divorce, they decided to rekindle their vows to each other in November 2021.
“It’s been a lot of work,” Brittany told Fox News. “I don’t think there’s anything we can’t go through at this point.”
To support those who are struggling, Brittany shared her and Wyland’s story as well as her own story of alcohol recovery on TikTok.
They were “fully aware” until about five years ago, shortly after the couple had their second and third children, twins, Brittany told FoxNews. “We started drinking again, thinking we were taking a few years off and we could drink like normal people again,” Brittany said. “And it was OK for a while and then eventually, you know, things started to get worse and worse and then we finally separated and filed for divorce in 2019.”
“It’s not just because of the alcohol,” Brittany added. “There’s a lot more very toxic behavior…we’re very dependent on each other and it’s not a good situation.”
Brittany claims that she increased her drinking after they broke up and suffered from mental health issues. She lost custody of her three children and made many attempts to get sober, but each time she relapsed after a few weeks or months. When he was released from prison after being arrested and spent the night in jail, he had a restraining order against him, was homeless, and had no contact with his children.
Eventually, Brittany began using heavier medication — something she had never done before — “just to ease the pain,” she said. One day in February 2020, he overdosed.
Brittany said she spent 28 days in Wisconsin getting sober and working on her own, taking a drug test, buying a respirator, and seeing a psychiatrist. When Brittany returned to California 28 days later for a court hearing, she was able to regain custody of her children. Although their relationship was completely over — to the point of only speaking through court — Wyland and Brittany reconnected about a year ago, after they both spent time working on their own.
They talk and eventually, apologize to each other, and start seeing a therapist together, to help them, and co-parent, finally fall in love again.
Brittany And Wyland Szabo’s TikTok Controversy
However, Brittany and Wyland find themselves under attack after lying to their followers. The controversy erupted when Brittany posted a TikTok falsely saying that her twins had a deceased brother, Lawrence. Insiders confirmed that it was a prank but fans did not take the “dead child” prank as a joke.
Both husband and wife have been criticized for being insensitive about “child loss”. The couple apologized and deleted the video but it was saved by another user and posted on Reddit. In the apology video, Brittany said, “We deeply apologize to those who were hurt, offended, or offended”.
He then added that they were “very disappointed in ourselves” and “very insensitive to us”.
The original video was captioned, “Seeing if our twins will do what we say”. In the video, Brittany says that she’s trying to win a Royal Caribbean cruise and starts talking about how difficult losing a child is for her children.
“Dad, we don’t have a brother,” said one of the twins.
“I know and that’s the unfortunate part because we lost her so young,” Wyland said, prompting Brittany to tell the camera: “They’re still in denial.”
One of the twin men interrupted, “What are you talking about?”
“Your triplets,” Brittany said and added, “In loving memory of Lawrence. Please, Royal Caribbean. Bless these boys on their birthdays.” Wyland concluded with: “We miss you, Lawrence.”
