A lot of people seem to have strong opinions about Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi getting engaged. Comments on both of their Instagram posts, which looked like subtle engagement announcements, were a mixed bag of congratulatory messages and people saying they were too young to get married.
Millie Bobby Brown And Jake Bongiovi Appear Engaged!
Although it seems neither of them have officially announced anything, photos shared on social media tell the story of a happy engagement. So why are so many people commenting negatively on it?
Someone recently asked me what I thought about it from a mother’s perspective because I have three sons in their age range. My oldest son, 20, is actually engaged to his girlfriend of 18 years, so I guess asking my opinion seems valid in some ways.
My son has been dating his fiancé for about three years. They got engaged a few months ago, despite their young ages, but they don’t plan to actually get married until the end of next year.
I’m sure you’re wondering how everyone in the family is reacting to the news. Take it easy, that’s how. No one is upset or crazy about it, because at the end of the day, we know they’re as close as a relationship can be and it’s their life to live. Do I think they made a mistake? Not at all. I am happy for their happiness and excited for their future together.
My Youngest Son Matured Fast Because He Was A Child Actor

When it comes to Brown, he has been an actor since a young age. I think a lot of people miss the fact that being a child actor means you mature faster. My youngest son was a child actor from age 7 to 14. He’s not someone you’d recognize just by hearing his name, Jesse VanDerveer, or by looking at his picture, but he lived that life for seven years of his childhood.
I’ve seen him mature faster than many kids his age because he already has a strong work ethic. She deals with more adult type material such as crime on “Law & Order: SVU” and legal topics on “The Good Wife”.
He learns how to follow directions exactly and the consequences if he doesn’t, how to be patient “hurry up and wait” while waiting for his scenes to be shot, and how to roll with last minute changes, like the time he doesn’t match the guy they cast as the father on his screen on “Blue Bloods” and was demoted to the background at the last second. Lots of confusing last minute changes and frustrations really mature a person!
I also can’t forget all the auditions where he didn’t get the part. He was invited to audition for the Netflix series, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” and the collection invited by sending and preparing for the audition really made the disappointment of not getting a call back worse, but he learned how to deal with the disappointment. at an early age.

That “set life” makes children grow up faster because they are exposed to a more mature environment than most children their age. Since many 9-year-olds are outside riding bikes with their friends, my son is memorizing lines, working on self-tapes for auditions, or actually working on set. So at age 9, for example, Jesse already has adult-sounding conversations, and is learning things that some people learn in college or while working as adults.
I realized that Jesse’s thoughts were those of someone much older than him when during a break during the filming of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” I didn’t see him in the other group of kids in the scene. I asked the production assistant if he knew where he was and he pointed to the back of the room. He was sitting with one of the editors doing color correction and teaching Jesse, who was very eager to learn. Moral of my story – my son matured faster than I expected.
And for the record, Jesse has never had a role as big as Brown’s. He’s mostly background and indie, with a few featured roles mixed in. So, I imagine he grew up mentally and emotionally much faster.
So, What Do I Mean?
Mega
Although Brown is only 19 and Bongiovi is 20, their mentality may be much older than their actual ages. Bongiovi has also been in the public eye with a famous father, so he understands the industry. And even though I don’t know them personally, or that much about them, and my speculation may not be worth two cents, I say let them do what they want without criticism.
Let’s also look at celebrity couples who married young and are still together – Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, David and Victoria Beckham, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr., and don’t forget Bongiovi’s parents, Jon and Dorothea.
CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple! My message to them is to ignore the negative, love the positive, and live their lives together unapologetically.
