Zac Efron, while attending the world premiere of his new film “The Iron Claw” in Dallas, Texas, expressed to People magazine his willingness to potentially portray late co-star Matthew Perry in a future biopic, stating, “I’m honored to hear he’s considering me to play him. We will see. I would be honored to do so.”
Perry, who died aged 54 last month, had previously mentioned Efron as his choice for the role.
The “High School Musical” star also shared her grief over Perry’s loss and reminisced about their time working together in the 2009 film “17 Again.” “He was a mentor to me, and we made a really cool movie together,” he says.
He added: “I look up to him, I learned comedy timing from that guy. I mean, when we were filming 17 Againit’s surreal for me to look across and he’s there because I’ve learned so much from him, from his whole life.”

On October 28, Perry was found unresponsive in her Pacific Palisades, California home, submerged in a jacuzzi.
First responders were called to the scene, and sadly, they discovered the star had passed away. No illegal drugs were found at the location, and there were no reports of fraud, according to TMZ.
Perry’s family expressed their deep sorrow at his tragic passing in a statement to Many people. It read: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend,” they said. “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the incredible outpouring of love.”
Warner Bros. TV, the production company behind “Friends,” also released a statement mourning the loss of the beloved actress.
