She captioned it, “500 days @zooeydeschanel …actually a lot more, but who’s counting?. 4 years really flew by. Happy birthday dear!!!”

In a cover story interview, Deschanel said, “This is a home that fits our tastes and needs, both aesthetically and functionally. Jonathan was amazing to think of that. He’s been doing it for his clients for a long time, and now he’s doing it for us and our family.”

During a March interview with People’s Magazine, Scott discussed their home renovation and how important the project was to him. He said, “Nothing is more important than home. And the older I get, the more I realize how much I appreciate being home with the kids and being home with Zooey. [We] really designed this house to solve every problem we had.”
As they complete their renovations, Scott said they are happy that their families are close and supportive, especially their parents. She said, “It’s nice that we have our parents in our guest house now too, so everyone is so close.”
The HGTV star explained that she and Deschanel wanted to build a home that would “grow with” their children. He said they wanted a place where they could “host and entertain” their family and friends.
Scott added, “So, to me, everything we do is so we can bring the people we love closer.”
