Allison Holker wants to carry on the legacy of her late husband Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss no matter how much it hurts!
Choreographers made her return to reality television dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance” earlier this month, and she got candid about the motivation behind her move.

Holker made a rare public appearance at the Fox Spring Premiere and talked about being a judge on the new season of “So You Think You Can Dance,” which premieres March 4.
The dancer, who described being a judge as a “full circle moment,” explained how it feels to be back on the set of “SYTYCD,” especially since she met her late husband, tWitch, on the competition series.
“Obviously, it comes with a lot of different emotions,” Holker admitted. “For me, at the end of the day, this is a way for me to give back what we have, and I feel like I want to heal both of us and show our love again and celebrate it and celebrate what we have and celebrate the great dance.”
He went on to tell Toofab, “That’s who he is [tWitch] know and that’s what he does and he does a lot of the show for a lot of people, so it’s really a blessing that I get to do this and I think people want to see the show again because of someone like him.”
Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who died in December 2022 after taking his own life, was one of the top contestants to appear on the Fox reality competition. He rose to fame after appearing as the runner-up in season 4, which was the launching pad for his career as a choreographer and DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” before he became an executive producer.
Speaking about her late husband’s significant legacy, Holker emotionally told the outlet, “He did so much in the dance industry for people, he gave so much. And I think we have an opportunity to do a lot more with other dancers with Maks, with JoJo — hopefully I can help deliver that. But we also really want to bring the light to dance again.”

After a heartbreaking year due to the death of her husband, Holker basked in the sunshine when it was announced in December 2023 that she would be a judge on the dance show.
Fox Network announced that the 36-year-old will be a first-time judge alongside “DWTS” Maksim Chmerkovskiy to lead the contestants to greatness. Holker and Boss, who have been married for nine years, previously failed in the All-Star edition of “SYTYCD.”
The lovebirds fell in love in 2010 when they appeared as all-stars in season 7. “We shared a dance at the So You Think You Can Dance season wrap party, and we’ve been together ever since,” the late Boss said of their relationship. “There is no dialogue, conversation or first hangout. Literally, we danced, and we were together holding hands the next day.”
Their short but profound marriage was blessed with three children — Weslie, 14, and Zaia, 3, and son Maddox, 7.
Holker Starts Dancing Again Eight Months After Boss’s Death
On December 14, 2022, Holker confirmed Boss’s tragic death with a heartbreaking statement that read:
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to share that my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He values family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light is everything to him. He is the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
In the midst of his grief, Holker does the bravest thing and returns to his first love and the Boss — dancing. In August 2023, the mother of three children returned to the dance stage after an absence of more than eight months. She took to TikTok to share a touching clip of her and her daughter Weslie dancing to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” remix.
In a follow-up clip on Instagram, she and her friend Brittany Russell are seen appealing to Missy Elliot’s “Bomb Introduction / Pass That Dutch”. To commemorate her return to dancing, Holker wrote in the caption, “It feels so good to be dancing again. I’m overwhelmed with so many emotions. I’m scared and excited. But dance has always been there for me… even now and I’m so grateful for that.”

As Holker moves on with life without Boss by his side, he is not opposed to giving love a second chance. While chatting with Nick Viall on “The Viall Files podcast,” the dancer talked about getting back on the dating scene.
Holker explains that he had to “learn to love [herself]” and understand if you can fall in love again. He also wonders if loving “someone else while I’m still in love with someone and in love with someone else” is something he can hold off on. However, it is not so black and white.
“It’s a very complex situation that I’m in,” he told the host. “It took me a long time to accept all that and the complexity of everything. But at the end of the day, I love life. So will I stay away from him?”
Holker continued, “I still find that the world is a very beautiful place, and there is so much to experience. So, at what capacity? What does it look like? I do not know. But I certainly don’t shy away from it. It’s just, life to me is life, and I just think it’s here to be experienced. Life and love are something I have always believed in.”
