“Did they explore the hollow?” are among the many questions posed to Chess Master Hans Niemann in an awkward new interview that has been tagged as “comedy gold.”
A year after Niemann’s name made headlines for allegedly using “anal beads” to beat Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, 31, at the Sinquefield Cup in St. Louis, Missouri, the 20-year-old is trying to clear his name.
The controversial chess champion, however, chose to sit down with Piers Morgan, and the 20-minute “funniest” discussion has taken the internet by storm.

Niemann appeared on the Sept. 26 episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored” to tell his side of the story accompanied by his attorney Terrence A. Oved, prompting the immediate question, “Why did you bring your attorney with you?”
The chess player replied, “Considering the recent cases and settlements. Some legal questions my attorney will be able to answer better. Honestly Terry and his team have been fantastic in helping me solve this case.” Despite his answers, Oved barely answered any questions throughout the interview.
Diving straight into the “anal bead” scandal, Morgan asked Niemann what his first reaction was when the allegations broke, “Obviously, it’s disappointing to be accused of cheating after the win. But you know these things happen and I’ve learned a lot from that time .”

“Just to clarify you didn’t listen?” Morgan asked, to which his guest replied, “of course not.” Unconvinced by Niemann’s answer, Morgan further wondered, “so what do you have to learn if you don’t cheat?”

That was something the media picked up on,” continued the San Francisco native, noting that the consensus among chess experts proved he never cheated. Morgan interjected to insist that he was asking how Niemman had denied using his anal beads.
“I just wonder how you deny it. I mean have you been stripped? Do they explore cavities? Where are we going?” the 58-year-old asked. “Well, through the tournament, there are security checks where they, you know, will do various security checks, metal detectors, different scanners,” explained the chess grandmaster.
