According to official court documents obtained by People’s Magazine, Bam Margera is seeking to reject Nicole Boyd’s legal separation request. Margera argued in the paper that she and Boyd “were never married, legally or otherwise.”
He wrote, “To my knowledge, Boyd has never legally changed her name in any state to ‘Nicole Margera.’ Every driver’s license or other form of identification I’ve seen Boyd has the name ‘Nicole Boyd.’”
Margera and Boyd did have a wedding ceremony in Iceland in 2013, and footage of the celebration was featured in a now-deleted video on Margera’s YouTube channel. However, it has not been confirmed whether the former “Viva La Bam” and Boyd ever got a marriage license registered in America.

According to court documents, Margera claimed that she and Boyd had a difficult, “tumultuous and unstable” relationship during their ten years together. She also wrote that they had broken up several times, during which Boyd would “leave my house and go live with his family in California.”
The stuntman wrote, “However, Boyd will always return to Pennsylvania soon, and we will resume our dating relationship.” Regarding their Icelandic wedding, Margera wrote that she was fully aware and understood that they were “not married.” She added, “Boyd told me he also knows and understands that we’re not married.”
In Margera’s documents, she also accused Boyd of moving her and Phoenix to California so he could use the marriage laws there to his advantage instead of Pennsylvania. In his defense, Boyd’s lawyer, David Glass, told Page Six, “Nikki continues to live in California with Phoenix while Bam is on the move – living in Florida, living in California, and for a few weeks, back in Pennsylvania. California is the only venue for this divorce action.”

Boyd responded to Margera’s allegations through his attorney, David Glass, who spoke with him Page Six. He said, “As a preliminary matter, recently Nikki heard Bam’s claim that they were never married. He was told that the wedding would take place in Iceland and everything was taken care of.”
Glass claims that Boyd “lived like a married couple with Bam for years” because he thought they were married. She stated that her trust was “in good faith” and that their time together made her a “fake spouse” under California marriage law.
Therefore, the model and photographer should be entitled to file a legal separation from Margera. He also stated that he was “entitled to property division and spousal maintenance, in addition to custody and child support.”
Why Nicole Boyd Filed Legal Separation From Bam Margera

Boyd filed for legal separation earlier this year and, in his filing, cited “irreconcilable differences.” She also asked the court to grant her spousal support from Margera. Shortly after news of her move to separate from Margera hit the headlines, her attorney revealed that she filed the papers because of Margera’s “inappropriate” behavior in front of their son, Phoenix.
Glass explained that Margera was always under the influence and misbehaved in front of their five-year-old son. He says this forced him to choose to protect himself and Phoenix from Margera.
Margera recently made headlines after her brother, singer Jess, claimed on Twitter that she was addicted to drugs and on the run from the police. The former “Jackass” star eventually surrendered to authorities. He also made a video of Lamar Odom about his offer to get him into his rehab for free for treatment.
