The late television personality died tragically in 2006 while filming a documentary when he was stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb. Since then, his family has proudly carried on his work by continuing to support animal welfare and conservation.
On Saturday evening, Bindi and her mother, Terri, and brother, Robert, hosted a gala dinner in honor of her late father at the elegant SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a selfie of herself and her husband, Chandler Powell, at the event. The couple looked excited and happy as they smiled for the camera.
The 24-year-old wrote a sweet note to her lover in a caption that read, “My date with the #SteveIrwinGala ?. @chandlerpowell Thank you for being such a supportive, kind, amazing person that I love with all my heart. Tonight is so special. More pictures to come….” Powell responded by writing a heartfelt message that read:
“I really love you. I had the most amazing and beautiful date ❤️ I’m the luckiest man alive.”

The 58-year-old wore striking gold shoes and opted for a sleek, straight hairstyle. Robert also looked sharp and sophisticated in a classic black tuxedo paired with a khaki button-down shirt. He accessorized with a black tie and watch.

The “DWTS” alum recently released a video detailing her endometriosis journey and expressed her immense gratitude to her family in the caption. The Blast shared that he also appreciates the team, friends and followers of Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors.
In the video, the “Curious George” voice actor recalls symptoms such as “extreme fatigue, nausea and pain” when he was 14 years old. She indicated that she had pain every day instead of just during her period.
He further explained that he “had every blood test you can imagine for a tropical disease” to find out what the problem was. The reality TV star revealed that after surgery in the US, doctors found 37 lesions and brown cysts. He shared that his recovery process was extensive and learned that “excisional surgery is the gold standard” before warning against ablation.
Following her recovery, Irwin took to Instagram in April to share a photo of herself looking healthy and happy. In the image, she sits on a log in the zoo, holding a meerkat in her hand, while another sits next to her.
His smile radiated satisfaction, showing how happy he was to be back at the zoo after the ordeal. She wrote in the caption, “There is something so beautiful about meerkats. Spending time with these sweethearts is like watching a real life soap opera. I love it. ? @australiazoo.”
