The body of an Israeli soldier who was forced to appear in a Hamas propaganda video – before footage cut to his body – has been found near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Israel said on Friday.
Cpl. Noa Marciano, 19, was “kidnapped and killed” by Hamas and his body was found by the 603rd Battalion of Israel’s 7th Armored Brigade, which operates “next door” to the hospital, according to the Times of Israel.
“The IDF sends its condolences to the family and will continue to support them,” the Israel Defense Forces wrote on X.
Marciano appeared in a Hamas video on Monday in which he said he was being held in Gaza and pleaded for Israeli forces to stop bombing the area.
The video then cuts to show his lifeless body. Israel confirmed his death Tuesday.

His body was found as the IDF continued to search Hamas infrastructure in the hospital complex.
Marciano was the second body of the hostage to be found. The body of Judith Weiss, who was also brought on October 7, was found near al-Shifa Hospital on Wednesday.
